new 991.2 order - saving on list
Discussion
Hello all, looking for some advice regarding placing a new car order from an OPC
I've been working on a spec for a carrera and have something i'm happy with. My research on the forums to date tells me that 'discount' is something of a dirty word in an OPC, but that savings of list can be achieved through a deal on the price of options or 'support' towards a deposit.
What's an achievable/realistic % saving off list at the moment, if buying through porsche finance?
If anyone has a recommended dealer/contact for achieving the best deal i'd appreciate some advice or a PM
much appreciated

Thanks for the advice gents, which is consistent with what i'd picked up from browsing this and various other forums
Does the month/quarter end tactic work when there are limited build slots? - or is this a dealer strategy to maximise their return?
I went to a reasonably close OPC and had a fairly candid discussion about price - was immediately offered about 2% off which matched the coast2coast broker's price (without me mentioning it, and this broker seems to offer a better discount than autoebid?)
I offered to place a deposit immediately for a bigger 'discount' achieved through the price of options or deposit contribution buying through finance but didn't get me any further so walked. Had already been offered a minimally better deal over the phone from a distant OPC, but still short of what I need to achieve to commit - I'm ready to buy but my rational self knows there must be a better deal out there.....

I was offered 2% fairly quickly by one dealer when I was looking to order my new Carrera in late autumn, but yes sounds like various factors might be at play because I think decent discount is usually hard to get. Good luck and enjoy - I love mine. Went for graphite blue with the matching two tone interior, and despite initial concerns when I ordered, the optioned glass sunroof looks ace.. Yowzer. Off for a spin.
Great car. Graphite blue seems like a really interesting colour, it looks very different between various pictures and videos online - does it really change that much with the light conditions, or is it just the way it photographs? Oh and did you go with the darker tint on the rear window to go with the sunroof, or leave standard?So.......
Have managed to get a best offer of 3% off list from a local OPC - not conditional on finance nor able to squeeze any more on speccing more options
Looking to order C2 with PDK and he following spec:
- Agate Grey Metallic
- Black leather interior
- 'PORSCHE' and '911' logo painted Exclusive
- ParkAssist (front and rear)
- Electrically folding exterior mirrors
- Electric slide/tilt glass sunroof
- Privacy glass (rear window) Exclusive
- Sports exhaust system
- 20-inch Carrera S wheels
- Wheels painted in satin black (complete) Exclusive
- Cruise control
- Automatically dimming mirrors with integrated rain sensor
- GT Sport steering in Leather
- Sports seats (4-way, electric)
- Seat heating
- Smoking package
- Floor mats
- Passenger footwell storage net
- Steering column casing in leather Exclusive
- Lid of storage bin with logo Exclusive
- deviated stitching to dash, doors and seats
Still not 100% decided and, whilst I know it is my decision ultimately i'd like to hear the PH comments and views on the spec and my indecision...
Colour - Agate is my 'safe' choice but i've had a few grey cars now and it can look a little brown in some light conditions. Also considering Graphite Blue which I really like but might be a bit of a fashionable colour i'd later regret? It looks great under darker light but not sure about it in bright sun/lights. Night blue also on my shortlist but might be as bad as black for swirls and showing the dirt (but I could save a few ££ as wouldn't get the black wheels/badges)
Sport Chrono - I doubt i'd get much use and the spec is already over budget but is it worth it?
Sports Seats Plus - don't really like the plastic backs on these, and worried it would get scratched dup when carrying luggage behind the seats. I like the extra bolstering around the legs but not sold on the shoulder wings for comfort on long trips (and I'm a fairly slim guy!)
As I said, ultimately my choices and very nice problems to have, but interested in the thoughts of you all and if there are any glaring omissions from my list

Thanks for all the comments
So having chosen agate grey i now keep seeing it everywhere and seeing more and more brown in it!
Agree with the comments about the better greys on previous generations - atlas, meteor etc all much sharper 'cooler' shades without the brown/gold tones of agate.
I've found these pictures of Night Blue Metallic with Satin Platinum wheels which might be the one
