Quick update with my Cayman,
A few aesthetic changes, rear badge changed to a black one, picked up 2 new side grilles today (black) and mirrors will follow next month. Also bought a new steering wheel and had it re trimmed in alcantara with green stitching (the original carbon fibre wheel got insanely hot in the sun and also not good with sweaty palms on track). Also lashed out on 4 new Michelin Super Sports
A few performance mods next week, bought this exhaust
Then an IPD & 82mm TB and also a short shifter to follow

Lovely looking car! Bet you're glad to see the back of that comedy steering wheel.
Yes it had to go (although I will keep it just in case the next owner wants to return the car to how it left the factory). Am tempted to get the handbrake and gear shift gaitor done to match nowFrankCayman said:
Lovely looking car, mate.
Did you buy it from an OPC?
I notice it has Gen 2 alloys on it...did the previous buyer pop them on or did you?
Cheers matey!, no I bought it from a friend (he bought it from OPC Bristol), Had the wheels on from new but it is a late 2009 model so I guess they threw the gen 2 wheels on it with the special paint order??Did you buy it from an OPC?

looks great !
can i ask how much it cost and how long to have the steering wheel retrimmed?
Original quote for napa leather was £120 but then I changed to alcantara and added green stitching and the matching 12 o'clock ring and the total bill was £140 and took a week to do.can i ask how much it cost and how long to have the steering wheel retrimmed?
They also offer a replacement wheel service if your car is a daily driver.
Been quoted £50 to get the handbrake and gearshift gaitor done in matching trim

can you give details of the company you used fella?
Company was Royal Steering wheels, ask for Jack and mention me if you want to.www.royalsteeringwheels.com

cheers fella, do like the look of it, has it been padded out? how do you think it wear ?
Yes made slightly thicker and added the thumb grips. Seems very good quality so think it will wear well.I kept the original and bought another wheel off eBay for £80 which was re trimmed

yep does look good, did you fit it yourself?
i don't have a MF steering wheel, if i bought one of the bay, would it be plug&play?
Yes very easy to fit, just need to disconnect battery 15mins beforehand (airbag reasons) then pop the air bag off and remove the wheel with a M12 spline tool (if yours is a 987 that is) like this ;i don't have a MF steering wheel, if i bought one of the bay, would it be plug&play?

Just had the IPE (Innotech) valvetronic exhaust fitted, here is a quick clip of the car being started up in the off position, then in the open mode half way through

That sounds very nice indeed!
I bought it from a guy on here who was an agent for IPE and this was his new demonstrator that has never been fitted. I got it for a grand but I believe they are about 2k retail. I have looked at getting the matching manifolds but they are astronomical at £2.5kThe Indy that fitted it said that it is by far the best sounding exhaust they have heard on a box/cay
