Cayman S sport edition

When I get around to moving on from my current 996t, I'm thinking of switching to a Cayman. I'd really like an R, but these are going up in price, and out of reach, so have been looking at the gen 1 S sports instead. I know these are small in numbers, but was wondering how close to an R are they?
Are they worth searching out instead of a standard S, as they have all the sorts of kit I like already fitted?
