Is it a one-mand-band affair with Carnewal? Always associated them with parts/sales rather than workshop services.
Yes, but Gert really knows his stuff. Check out his facebook page for work he's done, including this oneHe fitted my exhaust for free, was actually cheaper to go there (well with the Tesco Eurotunnel vouchers) than to get it shipped and fitted here.

Very nice car. He fitted my exhaust for free, was actually cheaper to go there (well with the Tesco Eurotunnel vouchers) than to get it shipped and fitted here.
Free fitment though, how does that work? If its free of course it will be cheaper than the UK
Was it a day trip or did you stay over? Seems like its in the middle of nowhere... though many seem to make the journey!!

Well he just offers to fit it for free. However my clamps were all rusted so paid extra to get those replaced. He did use genuine parts (at cost price) and extra labour charge was €54 an hour so still very reasonable!Free fitment though, how does that work? If its free of course it will be cheaper than the UK

It's about 2 hours from Calais, so not really that far. Although depends where in the UK you live obviously.
Went for a weekend, have some friends in Belgium so paid them a visit, also picked up a lot of Belgian beer so trip was worthwhile!

Thanks sounds worthwhile then. Maybe for a long weekend as you say. Will look at how the numbers stack up taking into accommodation, car hire maybe, etc. It's about 2 hours from Calais, so not really that far. Although depends where in the UK you live obviously.

^^ what car did you have the exhaust fitted to ?
also could you tell that the exhaust had be modified?
You mean me? It's a 996 C4S, could you not tell from the picture? also could you tell that the exhaust had be modified?
I don't think you can tell when driving normally, it's very quiet around town and not droney at all on the motorway. But at high revs or under heavy acceleration it really opens up
You can't tell visually, it's just standard boxes which have been internally modified.

I've got the Carnewal exhaust which uses a Cayman R backbox. I assume this is slightly louder than the normal Carnewal GT exhaust.I was worried about the noise test on my first track day after fitting it, but it passed easily.
I can't remember the exact figure, but it was under 100 dB.
