My 1 yr 981 with Carrera 20" wheels seems to have an issue with the NSF wheel where the paint seems to be very thin and wearing off (about 30% of the wheel). Is this common ? I only wash with a neutral shampoo and never anything acid based. The top coating does seem very thin. Will try to get a pic of it. Anyone else had any issues ?

Okay, it's going in on Wednesday to get the faulty horn replaced. I'll ask them to look at it then.

Porsche Edinburgh have taken some pictures and will send them to some other Porsche person.

I'm awaiting the excuses. I'm thinking that they will try to say that I've driven through something or the likes. We'll see...

Okay, good to know that it's not something that 'just happens'. It's quite strange, as it seems just like the very top satin layer that's disappearing - leaving a darker, duller under-coat like the top coating is just washing away or thinning over time. The car was purchased from Porsche Leeds and Edinburgh have verified with them that the wheel has not been touched.

My son had an issue with his Audi wheel de-laminating and I had a bit of hassle with them in trying to get it sorted out. As soon as I started going down the 'mis-sold warranty' route, they had it repaired within a week plus apologies.

I do hope that this doesn't turn into a hassle, as this is my first Porsche and my experience so far has been pretty good.

Car booked in to have this repaired under warranty on Monday.

Hopefully it will be an end to the issue and the other wheels don't end up suffering the same. Also hope any refurb matches up...
