Being in the market for an Cayman i was wondering if the newly announced 981 Cayman Black Edition was worth it? Or will just drop in value big time when the face-lift model is here next year?

I have noticed they have not made this one limited like the 987 version!?

Anyone else looking at this?

Well playing with the online con-fig, i've managed to stick 6k worth of extra's to it! I would be wanting at least 10% if i was to order a new one. Always try and buy 2nd hand but i guess its all swings and round abouts on how much each car goes down.

The 6k does include the £1700 sport design body kit!

The cayman would be a DD. The extra options below that i would like on the already quite full black edition -

Black leather interior
SportDesign package Exclusive
Power steering Plus
Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM)
Sports exhaust system Exclusive
Sport Chrono Package with dynamic transmission mounts
Sports seats Plus (2-way, electric)
Smoking package
BOSE® surround sound-system
Digital radio

This comes to £53,923.00

The S with the same options comes to £60,671.00. No idea if the S comes standard with the free options in the black edition.

Was this the standard 2.7 or the black edition?

There is no S Black Edition as far as I am aware.

Not sure what point you are trying to make. Assuming you are OK with a black 2.7, you are better starting with Black Edition unless there are some high cost things - 20" wheels or PCM for eg which you actually DON'T want.

I was just seeing what the 2.7 black was vs the standard Cayman S

They mean the PCP. You can take out the PCP from the dealer and after 1 month pay the whole lot off. I think you get charged 1 months worth of interest for cancelling.

Still trying to weigh up all if buying the 2.7 black edition is a sensible choice over a 1 year old one 2.7 Cayman.

Is anyone actually ordering the Cayman black edition?
