Hi,

First time posting on the forums. I've been looking out for a Gen 2 Cayman for the last couple of months and now I'm ready to buy. My budget is around £25k so my choice is between a high specced Cayman or low specced Cayman S, haven't quite made my mind up on that bit yet.

Regardless, there's one thing playing on my mind. With the new '4th' gen Cayman coming out next month, would now be a bad time to buy? Do we expect there to be a tumble in the prices of the previous generation Caymans when the new one is released?

This will be my first Porsche so I'm not so experienced in how the market maneuvers yet.

Thanks in advance,

Lux

It took me over a year of looking for Gen 2 Cayman S I missed a number of good opportunities deliberating over whether it was right or not, as well as having to wait for what I wanted.
They are out there but Gen 2 are quite well sought after (particularly in your price range)
Don't rush it, but be prepared to act when you spot the one you want.
I contemplated the Cayman but went for the S in the end. The wait was worth it.
To summarise with a Cayman (price wise) I do not believe there is a right or wrong time to buy.
Good luck with your search and most of all enjoy the Cayman whichever you decide on - they are great cars in any format.
That's the main problem, I'm getting really impatient after looking for a couple of months now, but I also fear rushing in on the wrong car. Hopefully I'll just know when everything feels right smile
