718 Cayman Spec & Colours- what have you gone for?
Discussion
Personally still deciding whether to press the button and cant have it arrive before Jan so I have time.
Keen to see what spec and colours you are going for?
I like the GT Silver on 20's Black Wheels
Other items id like to spec:
PDk
NAV
PSE
Isofix
Upgrade lights
Quite basic otherwise options get ridiculous!
Being offered about £2k discount at the moment.

I have just sold my 981 Cayman 2.7 and will be looking to go
718 Cayman with a spec of:
Cayman II alloys
PDK
Rear wiper (my 981 didnt have this but think it is needed)
folding mirrors
black leather seats red inserts
Multifunction steering wheel
Saphire blue or GT silver (always had silver with the 981 in Rhodium Silver) so i have a difficult choice.
Miami Blue looks stunning but may stand out too much for me etc.
Twin exhaust tail pipes. (finishes off the rear quite well in my opinion)
Not test drove a boxster 718 yet but hope it goes and sounds well. (it is a porsche after all)
I have always managed a 'contribution' towards my order and i am very interested to know if there are any deals out there?? forewarned is fore armed.
tentative discussions have only yielded tyre insurance and paint protection.
pm me rather than post re contributions.
thanks!
About to replace my 981 Boxster for either a new 718 Cayman or an M4. I'll be buying via finance and the monthly payments for my chosen spec are within £5 of each other (list price of Cayman (approx £50k) v pretty good discounted deal (approx £60k before discount) I've negotiated with local BMW dealer). Local OPC where I would buy from is well aware of the M4 deal I've been offered. Parting words to me last week were "make sure you come and speak to me before doing anything about the M4, I'm sure there's something we can do". Also, same OPC, different salesman. Chatting while we drove to fill up a 718 before a test drive. I mentioned my reservations about the boring 718 sound. "I'm sure we could chuck a sports exhaust into a deal on a new 718".718 Cayman with a spec of:

Just taken a 718 Cayman 2.5 S for a test drive. It had 20 inch wheels but the PASM was off. The salesman, a brother of a friend, said he would spec bigger wheels over PASM and that PASM is only useful if you want to have a stiffer / sporty ride. It doesn't provide a comfort setting.
Appreciate most people say its worth having?

Was lucky enough to borrow a 718 Boxster 2.0 for a day.
A few observations from me regarding spec which hopefully will help give food for thought when it comes to deciding spec....
- My demo car had 20" wheels but no PASM. In all honesty, I didn't find the ride crashy at all. I took it on a decent mix roads throughout the day and whilst you can feel the bumps when the road gets bad, I never felt the car was wanting for balance or poise. I might change my tune if I do eventually try a car with PASM, but I actually found it more compliant and stable than my current M135i which granted is a different type of car, but is on 18" wheels.
- The manual box is rather lovely and oh so satisfying to use. The shift action is a bit stickier than I'd like, but that's a minor niggle. Regarding the clutch being apparently lighter, it didn't feel any lighter than my brother's old 981 Boxster S. However, having had it in a City Centre and a motorway traffic jam later in the day, I did find it a bit tiring..... Will try a PDK soon as that might suit my personal needs better...
- Graphite blue looks great in direct sunlight. It definitely attracts a lot of glances, but when the sun went in..... it looked a bit dull. I definitely admire the colour, but not sure its for me.
- One of the options I noticed previously on the configurator was "fusebox cover in leather". Well turns out there's a big black plastic panel in the passenger footwell which really looks out of place if you don't tick that box. Seemed like a bit of an oversight and not something I was expecting of a 'premium' car to be honest and frankly a bit puzzled why they wouldn't have the panel in the same carpet texture as the rest of footwell.
- The car was fitted with Sport Chrono. I personally really liked the rev matching system and thought it worked really well. Appreciate it won't be for everyone, but if I do eventually go for a manual, I would spec it.
Overall, an enjoyable day and can't wait for my Cayman to eventually roll around. Still plenty to think about with regards to spec though.
Opc Wilmslow by any chance. I was due to take a very similar car yesterday but someone else had taken it out for the afternoon. So ended up with the 2.5.A few observations from me regarding spec which hopefully will help give food for thought when it comes to deciding spec....

Hello all,
First post here..Just put in my order today at Guildford after a test drive.
Looking at a Feb/March delivery.
- Cayman S 718
- Agate Grey
- 20" Carerra S alloys in gloss black
- PDK
- Chrono
- Sport suspension PASM
- Sports exhaust black tips
- Bi-Xenon pack in black
- Tinted taillights
- Connect pack
Have to say, had my heart set on a flat six 981 but the new car was cheaper to buy than a second hand late 981.
Sound isn't great, but goes like stink. Was super impressed with the chassis.
Dealer advised getting nav as it helps resale value? Does anyone have experience here?
With connect and Waze i'm sorted so am not fussed with nav personally.
