After a spirited bit of driving yesterday, my PDK box locked itself into 2nd gear and put a warning on the dash that there was a fault and R (reverse?) may not be available. Close to home back into a 30, so just drove home.

Car is sub 12k miles and not yet 3 years old, so still well in warranty.

Switching off/on 'seems' to have fixed it, but just wondered if anyone else had this happen and is it the sign of impending gearbox doom?

Could be taken as a plus point for the more simple manual box and certainly one for keeping a warranty!

Given it a 50 mile 'workout' today and all seems well, with the dash message centre showing no notifications, so I'm hoping just an electrical glitch?

Going to report it to OPC on Tuesday, just in case the ECU has logged it and it goes pop in a months time; don't want them saying "you should've brought it straight in"!

Cheers Danny, I suspect mine will turn out to be the same - booked in for next Wed, just to check it out.

I suspect the ECU has logged it, but no notifications/messages in the driver information system?

Update: The ECU had recorded a fault with one of the hydraulic solenoid valves, which the OPC has cleared and want to monitor if it occurs again.

I will definitely be renewing the warranty in October, although the cynic in me might think it was preprogrammed to elicit that very reaction wink
