Thanks guy, the car has been repaired already and the chap selling it has had the car for a couple of years already. I would have the car checked before I bought, but what do we think the "right" price is for this car given the expertise on the forum. Just to reiterate, those pictures are pre-repair from a couple of years ago.

Thanks Cmoose, that all makes very good sense. I think, like you I'd need to be at close to 50% of the value.

Vlad, its a 2009 car with 38,000 miles. 3.4 S with PDK. Satnav, heated seats and Bose amongst the usual spec. Looks like extended leather too. However, no heated seats that I can see from the interior panel.

Well, I'll give it a try but I don't think he'll accept the £13,000-£14,000 that I'm going to offer him!

Jokes aside, what you guys have said is backing up the research I've been doing, so it is probably a fair offer given the seller has priced it at about £18,000.
