Who has a car on order, and did you manage to get any sort of discount?

I quite like the look of the sport-tex/full leather interior, anyone seen this in the flesh on a Boxster?

A late surge from Carmine red, which despite being a piss-take price is winning...

I'm hoping to check it out in the flesh, it comes with the full leather interior, and is a sort of material; I just like the way to breaks up the interior, and it comes with silver stitching in the car, which is normally (laughably) chargeable.

Best pics I can find of it:

I have gone for all black.

I think it will be nicer in the summer and winter months.

If you dont have Nav then you can order Connect, if you order Nav then you have to order connect+. I am not an apple fanboy so ordered nav. The dealer explained that for the updates and traffic I need a data sim, which is crap so I did not order connect +

Just my opinion of these seats after seeing the car at Goodwood ...

I sat in the 718 which had these seats, I wasn't aware of them until then. Loved the way the car looked in Miami Blue but I got out of the car and said to my dad 'oh I think they've stopped doing the alcantara seats as the standard and now doing these cloth seats, don't like that'.

Now, this was in a busy, rushed environment but nevertheless it was my first impression, that didn't like them as much as the normal alcantara seats of the 981. I actually thought they looked cheap.

I might change my mind when I see them next!

Also, this is coming from someone who can't afford a 718.
Thanks for this. Was it this:

Interesting, I would have thought it would have used your phones data connection.

I know BMWs have SIMs, but they cover the data costs for 3 years
Thats what I would have thought, but unless my OPC have got it wrong (and they had been on a course about it), its a stupid system. Either it should be like BMW or at worst use the data plan on my phone I already have!

My personal view is PASM is required on 20s for a nice drive when not on it. On both 991 and 981 I found sport too firm for most uk b roads. On the 718 I tried with PASM and 20s sport seemed much better. I prefer the design of the boxster S 19s, it will ride even better and I have saved 700 quid!

My only slight remaining reservation is the sport tex but I think it brings a bit of contrast along with all the deviated stitching you would not get with full leather (without paying for it )

I would agree that on the road Ceramics are hard to justify. They also have a tendency to squeal.

I had them on a 981 Cayman, and on a track day at Bedford they were outstanding (outlasted a Mclaren who didnt have them and whose brakes caught fire!)

They do have the benefit of lasting much longer; easily 100k if you dont do a track day a week and abuse them, so there is a saving there.

Finally they dont generate anything like as much (if alomost no) brake dust on the wheels which is a bonus but not worth 5k for!

Is this the same as the system that was in the 981?

BOSE® Surround Sound System with 10 loudspeakers including centre speaker and an active subwoofer integrated into the vehicle body. Fully active sound system with a total output of 505 watts. BOSE® Centerpoint® 2 and SurroundStage® technologies enable the system to play stereo recordings in a virtual surround mode. AudioPilot® Noise Compensation Technology ensures that the acoustic pattern is constant and well balanced in all driving conditions.

No, it has changed as power output is up:

BOSE® Surround Sound System
The optional BOSE® Surround Sound System really strikes a chord.
It comprises eight amplifier channels with a total output of 445 watts. Its 10 loudspeakers, including an active subwoofer integrated into the vehicle bodyshell behind the dashboard, deliver a balanced acoustic pattern.
In combination with the optional CDR Plus audio system or optional PCM, the BOSE® Surround Sound System enables audio playback of DVDs and is thus able to make full use of the impressive sound spectrum of 5.1 digital recordings. Of course, you can still play other audio sources, such as CDs and MP3s, in stereo or, at the push of a button, in one of the virtual surround modes generated by BOSE® Centerpoint® 2.
The BOSE®-patented AudioPilot® noise compensation technology uses a microphone to continuously measure the ambient noise inside the vehicle and adapts music playback instantly and automatically so that a consistent sound is maintained – whatever the driving conditions.
The result is a balanced, faithfully reproduced sound and a captivating 360° acoustic experience.
Let's hope those extra 60 watts have been to music school!

I had similar experiences with Guildford. In 1987 I bought a 944S from them and said "never again". It took until 2004 until I went to them to buy a 996 Turbo and said "never again". Sad to see that they still haven't improved - but I had the same feeling that unless you were spending vast amounts of money (and the cars I bought weren't cheap!) they just weren't interested. I have been using Mid Sussex since 2004 and they have been brilliant.
My wife and I have bought 2 cayennes, a 997, a 981 s cayman, a 991 Gts, and every time I have given guildford an opportunity so sell as they are nearest but they have not been quick enough or made enough effort. On the last cayenne SD they said x is he very best they could do. Portsmouth were significantly better deal. We bought. Guildford chap rings. I tell him deal. "Oh we could have bettered that". tt.

As others have said. Experiemces within a dealership are varied. We had good with reading, silverstone, mid Sussex, Portsmouth and Bournemouth.
