As I have succumbed and added Connect Plus to my 718 order I thought I would start a thread dedicated to collating anything we find out that may help those who have specced it to get the most out of it. To start it off I found this PDF which gives a nice overview of the technology and, although it is produced by Porsche Cars NA, it will undoubtedly have some commonality with the UK market.

Probably not otherwise the Porsche website would explicitly state that this was possible and I cannot find any references supporting the dual phone functionality. This link may be of interest to you:

I wonder if it would be possible with Connect Plus to insert your work phone's SIM into the PCM slot for data use and connect your personal phone to the PCM via Bluetooth for your personal calls?

As always, if in doubt contact Porsche smile

...although it would appear that the SIM card slot also provides telephone functionality as well as data ( for Google Earth etc ) so I think the answer is no to dual-phone connectivity to the PCM. If you find out anything to the contrary then please post it here.

^^^^Yes, SIM for data only is backed up by the document I linked to in the first post. The image on P39 shows a typical connection scenario I presume. If you don't want to use a dedicated SIM for data you can tether your phone and use its data plan as per the image on P41.

Regarding the dual phone connectivity above, I found this video that discusses several aspects of the 718 Cayman. In particular, at 9:00, it is stated that 2 phones can be connected to the PCM:

So not all is lost for those who need it?
