I have a GT4 that I did have advertised on Autotrader and still have advertised on Pistonheads as I am / was going to sell as also have a 911 Supersport being restored and its due back next month after 15 months of work...

Problem being, the more I drive my GT4 and don't thing of selling it the more I am enjoying it.

Query is - there seems to be a lot of GT4 owners changing to 991 GTS's and I quite like the thought of 4 seats (and they look like a 90% of the driver involvement of a GT4?!?) - I have 3 kids and means in theory I would be able to use the car more as could take the 2 older kids to various activities whilst the current Mrs MUR44Y looks after the newborn... at present I can't do that.

I could in theory use the Supersport when it comes back but would I be better selling both and having 1 car - a 991 GTS?

Has anyone made the move and regretting it or is it a natural change to be making?

I currently only use the car twice a week to run my oldest (7) to football and rugby and its epic but hardly being fully utilised!

Also, potentially doing a track day in the car - do I need to bother changing tyre pressures or is standard set up a-ok to go out and do 3 or 4 laps?

Thanks re both queries!!!

Thanks for quick feedback...

Finding it a tricky decision as my GT4 does everything you would want for quick blast / short trips, and every time I open the garage it looks immense. Double take when I walk away etc... but I would probably do that for a 991 GTS also as they look great.

I don't use the GT4 every day as I have a LR Defender I use for work, but equally I only have a single garage so not really an option to keep two weekend cars. The 991 GTS would get more use as could take 2 eldest (age 7 and 5) so they would fit in the rear of the 991 but worried id miss the 'specialness' the GT4 gives me.

I guess the 991 GTS would give 90% of that feeling plus add some practicality and with slight overs on the GT4 at present i can move from a £75k list car to a £95k list car for not a lot I imagine.. but there is a niggle Id miss the GT4..... decisions decisions!!!

not a bad idea! had a look at a 997 GTS a few months ago, great looking car... just the 991 is growing on me as been looking online more and more... Supersport likely to be kept until Spring and sell then once all final bits are complete, although lands with me in 2/3/4 weeks. Never restored a car before and its taking a while although should be sharp when all done

Instead of selling the Supersport to help fund the 991 GTS we ha about a 997 GTS ? At least £25k cheaper (ignore Heegonn prices). I use mine weekends for ferrying kids around...it's a great car. Took mine to the PEC yesterday, perfectly a at home on track.

Thanks for continual thoughts. Spending far too long looking at 991 GTS and spec's and also at my own GT4 and others... Problem is I love the GT4, took it out last night to take boy to football practice and its so so good for a quick blat...

Will go drive a GTS at the weekend I think at local Porsche dealer and am taking my car north tonight to maybe take on track and do 3 - 4 laps!! Thanks for info on tyre pressures, won't be pushing it too hard so should all be ok!!
