Ok
It's a great car. Just back from a 200 mile round trip
It screamed round. Exhaust note wonderful
But ...
It's manual
The roof is not for spontaneous events
I've got a GT3 that does what the Spyder does only better

I just can't seem to love it - I do try
So my mind thinks I should sell it and move on
Then I catch sight of the shape. The front end etc
And I stop. It's highly specd for me
Will I regret it ?
Really can't decide

Thanks for the feedback
It's GT metallic with the classic red interior
£75k list so a few boxes ticked !
Been offered £5000 premium
Will I miss it ? Yes but no tears but it's such a rare thing that I have a bias to just keeping it
Having just written that it sounds stupid !
Take the money and move on
Will it be a collection piece in 5 years time ? Who knows and no reason to spend money storing it

Interesting discussion
I also have a 9934s - manual of course
But oddly that suits the car and anything else would be wrong
I live in west london so driving the Spyder is "hard work" in heavy traffic as the clutch is not that user friendly ( unlike the 993)
I know I should love it but for some reason I don't
Unlike the GT3 and the 9934s I hasten to add

In my head the GT3 does all that the Spyder does but only better - apart from the roof of course .
That's a personal view and to do with how I drive. As we know we all get different things from cars

Hi there G. Sounds like you've answered your own question - you've tried , I'd walk away if I was you - I however love mine and would never want to be without it - we're all different - good luck with your sale smile
Richard - good evening. Yes the continuing debate in my head ! The major plus is its rarity
Seen very very few in my outings. Not even 5 since I have had mine.
Funnily enough my potential sale via a dealer was £5000 premium ... now dropping due to varying factors
So that deal is off and currently I don't have time to think about advertising etc. So come Saturday I'm going out. Roof down. Engine howling
Might fall in love !!!

Yep, I genuinely believe they are the best value car of the modern bunch - IMHO it wins the smiles per £ by a county twisty road open top mile smile (see what I did there)
Well ............given the feedback ( ignoring the bits about my car is better than your car stuff) I have decided that I should reflect and keep it over the winter
I have no other car in mind + I am on the case with my dealer to have the next halo car so the more Porsche cars I own AND DON'T SELL the better my chances
That's the game I am told - so you get invited to buy the halo cars . That's fine but perhaps I play the game and hold the Spyder as a chip
Thanks for the feedback
I'll try and like it more in the hope the love flows !!
This really is a first world problem for which I apologise. Life could be a whole lot worse for sure
I consider myself lucky

why do you want the next halo car ? and that means keeping a car now you don't like ?

just give your OPC your spyder to sell now, let them make the money and that will get you into the "next halo car" no point keeping it imo.
Why not want the next halo car ?? It's the best pension planning I can think of !! Plus I just love my GT3 , so one assumes I'll love the next one even more
It's called boys and their toys ..............you get to my age and there's not much left !
And its no hardship to drive the Spyder - and my dealer has not responded to suggested sale so not interested one assumes
But but but I hesitate to sell to anyone else as I might get a black mark . Pathetic I know but thems the rules - play or get out . I choose to play
Not yet a criminal offence

Have had my Spyder for five months & OPC calls me every month. I'am sure to see if I have sold it lol or maybe ensure I'll give them first options to take it back. Yep, why not the next halo car. It was a no brainer to get the Spyder - three years of practically free motoring/zero depreciation. So, yep with you on that one & also hope to be in line for another halo car myself by playing the game.
Good luck with the next halo
I'm hoping GT2RS !!!
I think I live in a fantasy world with that wish for car
710 bhp.
Not sure it'll be fast enough though ....

I change cars way too often as eager to try as many as I can whilst in good health. One thing I have learnt though, is the moment you question keeping a car, just sell it. You've already mentally moved on and it doesn't matter how many people tell you to keep it, you will come back to the same feelings shortly.

Just my 2 pence worth wink
Dave - I would if I had something else in mind but I don't so no rush. My mood was forced by the offer of a £5000 premium
But that vanished when the deal was put together. Slightly misled but such is life

it's not about boys and their toys now though is it ? you don't like the car you own lol !

it's about getting a halo car which may or may not be better.

Rather a R10 v10 Plus with a NA v10 while you still can buy them, that's a toy, NOT a halo car !

or the 3 cars I own which ARE PURE TOYS !!! you are just waiting and forced to buy cars which make money ! sadly not toys any more.

If you want a toy buy a 997 GT3 ! or a Lotus or some thing fun !
As we have never met you have no idea about me so please don't tell me what I want, can't have, why I want it , etc etc
I don't want a halo car because it's a halo car
It's have the next great experience of owning a pice of engineering triumph
Simple
You do enjoy stirring it don't you ??

Mmmmm
Interesting reply
The Spyder is not my definition of a halo car
GT3/GT3RS/GT2/GT2RS
