Negotiating Cayman S second hand prices / private dealer..
Discussion
Just curious how much success anyone's had with negotiating down prices on second hand Caymans from non OPC dealers.
As mentioned elsewhere, I have a deposit on a 718s, but drove a 981s again today and loved it, so am keen to pursue that route.
The two variables I have to negotiate on are the price and finance package (APR)
The car i'm interested in is listed at just under £45k.. Am I being overly optimistic trying to get this down to ~£42,750- that's about 5% off.
Is there that much margin in a second hand car?

Thanks all - lots of good tips in there. it's a high specced 3 yr old car (circa £60k new)- I think it's priced at the top of end for what it is without a Porsche warranty, but it's in stunning condition and low miles.
Guess the only way to find out is to put in my best offer and see how close I can get to that.

Cheers Gadgit,
Thanks for the tips, totally take on board the dealer angle.. If I do buy privately / non-Porsche the car will definitely go in for a check - I may even extend the warranty.
I've trawled OPC used and can't find anything quite the same - the spec ticks all my boxes except sports exhaust - but with the 6 sounds, I don't mind too much.
Car is 1 owner from new bought at my local OPC, i've seen all the paperwork. less than 14k miles, serviced over a year ago and only done 3k since then. Mint.
Spec is:
Basalt black with black sports seats plus
Sports chrono package
PASM
Nav
20' carrera classic alloys
Twin zone automatic air condition
Heated front seats
Phone prep
Sports steering wheel
Power steering plus
Bi-xenon lighting system
Park assist front and rear
Electric folding exterior door mirrors
Automatically dimming interior mirror
Sports seats plus two way memory
Tyre pressure monitoring system
Porsche communication management
Bose surround sound system
Close to a deal with these guys, need to talk to OPC about deposit on 718 now... then have a chat with LiamH66
