I want to upgrade the head unit on my 2007 987S. I am way out of touch with today's ICE so would be grateful for your input. The unit I keep coming back to is the Alpine INE-W925R, I'm not sure exactly why but it does have everything I need. ie. Sat Nav, Bluetooth, MP3, DVD etc. which, I know, a lot of HUs have.

Can anyone suggest an equal or better HU in the same price range (or cheaper) and what adaptors, fascia plates etc. I would also need. My system is non-Bose.

Thanks, Martin

Thanks for the reply.

So I've had a look at some Pioneer units and quite like the Pioneer Avic F80DAB. Will this fit ok and do you know if I will need anything else to go with it?

Hmm! decisions, decisions.

Whichever unit I go for, will I need all of this...

You will be needing these 3 things to change the radio,
Facia - http://www.carcommunications.co.uk/connects2-doubl...
Arial Adapter - http://www.carcommunications.co.uk/connects2-ct27a...
Stereo wiring - http://www.carcommunications.co.uk/navtv-most-bose...

I know I will need the fascia kit but if I have to shell out another £400+, I don't think I'll bother.

Thanks for your comments guys. I now have a Pioneer AVIC-F80DAB ready for installation. I still need a fascia plate but the only one I can find comes with this kit...CT23PO03. I'm pretty sure I don't need the mounting cage and other bits & pieces so can I just get the plate separately? Are there alternatives?

Thanks Animal, I contacted them band they said:-

"If you have a Pioneer stereo, the cage would be too large to fit this fascia. You would require the complete kit, this also allows you to adjust how the stereo sits, in, out or flush."
