Hi Guys,

Your opinions please.

I’m just about to book my car into Porsche so they can retro fit a PSE system for me. Has anyone else done this? Also did you consider any other options as well i.e. Armytrix / Fabspeed / Borla etc?

It’s roughly costing me £2k to get it done – what’s your thoughts?

I know sports exhausts are not for everyone but as this car is my weekend car (for the moment) I figured that I’d try and get the most out of it in terms of experience and fun (if you know what I mean) so I thought why not!

Also, is it a fair assumption to think that if I were to go down the PSE route then at least warranty etc is all retained without any complications? I wouldn’t want any third parties potentially buggering up my new pride and joy!

Cheers,
Paul

Do you think it's worth keeping the original once the new exhaust is fitted??

When I had the PSE fitted to my 981S I kept the original back boxes sans the sports tips which went onto the PSE with a view to selling them on as a donar for somebody who wanted a Carnewal conversion - eventually sold them on Ebay for not a lot of cash, about £150 (no bites on PH or other sites) and sure enough the guy was buying them for Carnewal.
As for the welds, I'm pretty certain that externally the Carnewal looks identical to stock BUT dont you think the OPC will notice when the engine starts?! My 987S2 had a Carnewal exhaust, its a nice piece of kit and more subtle sounding than the PSE plus a lot cheaper at about £500 but it does mean no Porsche warranty etc and also OPC's wont touch the car as a trade in (well they might if they have a replacament set of rear boxes to hand).
£2k sounds about right for a PSE, I paid £1800 for the 981S.

Hi Keith,

Thanks for the comment. Are you able to say where you got yours done? I might give whoever they are a call and try and save myself £200 for the effort (it all helps!).

Cheers,
Paul

Definitely call a few OPC's to get their best quote - also if you are planning on keeping yours serviced at the OPC you bought from make them aware of this.

I got this retro-fitted to my 981c as part of the deal I can PM you details, it definitely wasn't full price though.

It's an extravagant option but for a weekend car it just adds to the enjoyment, I rarely have it turned off and it brings a smile to your face every drive - the wife even commented that it was worth getting!
Yes, please do send me the details - many thanks!
