Hi there gents,

Its been a long time since ive owned a Porsche (928s owner) and as its my 50th early next year ive been busy squirreling away money to add to my ever growing Cayman 718 fund.
I plan to buy as cheap as i can and as i have no interest in anything other than pdk im sure the base car would suit my needs just fine.I plan to keep the car for many years so options for decent resale arent a priority.

Anyone else gone for base or are the options just too tempting...

thanks..

Thanks for the comments so far,

Sapphire blue is my colour choice and im happy how the car looks on the Cayman 18" alloys, leather is a no no for me as ive never been a fan of it.So im a shade over the £45k (by £478) that ive got sitting in my Cayman piggy bank burning a Cayman size hole.

So a trip to Gallions reach Porsche is planned for Monday (i better get a move on if i want it by 2018)

Just to add im not a fan of the looks of the 981 and a new Porsche has been the plan for some time now.

Personally i don't really get why you'd order a no frills virtually optionless car to maximise VFM yet still specify PDK unless you had a physical limitation that prevented you driving a manual. If the idea is to keep it simple, PDK seems like the antithesis of that, even more so if it's a high days and holidays car.
Auto (pdk) is a must for me nowadays due to the fact i have had trouble with my left leg since a motorcycle accident a few years ago, also as im semi-retired 6 mths of the year the car will get plenty of use touring the uk with my other half and the other 6 mths (autumn/winter) it will get less use as i work those months and travel to work by train.Of course it will still get use in autumn/winter but far less.

If i could id be happy with the car stripped back a little further,as a 49yrs old i remember light low equipment cars of the 80s/90s fondly.

thanks for your comments..
