Just returned from a fortnight in France (without dogs!)& the car was it's usual comfortable & quick self. On the way home it threw it down with rain & the wipers stated making "graunchy" noises (not the blades, but from the motor or mechanism). It did this a few years ago, but , on the principle of "it'll get better or worse etc", it went away.
No doubt the wiper assembly is a PIA to get at as I expect it was fitted early in the assembly process. Anyone have any hints or suggestions how to get at the motor and/or linkage. After the holiday I don't feel like sending it in for a doubtless expensive investigation.

Had a look & I will grease up the joints I can see. The plastic plenum comes free from the engine compartment seal easily enough, but to release it at the screen end it looks as if I have to remove the wiper arms & spindle nuts? I don't fancy just bending it up as it feels pretty brittle!
I'll keep you posted!

Thanks for the advice all of you. Needless to say I have done nothing...the sun has shone & you cannot beat procrastination!
Just got a pair of bonnet gas struts to stop having to use a broom handle, so I'll check out the link then!
