A place to discuss the new found love for one of Porsche's finest....the 964. smile

Anything goes....driving it, fixing and repairing, modifying, cleaning, tracking, photos, videos, values, etc, etc

Just say what you want about the 964, good, bad or ugly! Just don't get the thread locked boxedin

As far as pics go, here's a dirty, old one of mine to get us started:

Here's to the rising star of air cooled....the 964. beer

Two of them....that's just plain greedy! hehe

I was fairly new to Porsche when I bought mine. Wanted a 993 at the time (in 2007) but luckily couldn't afford one so got a 964 instead. biggrin

This year it's bodyshop time so god knows what I'll find when it's striped, more importantly I've been fortunate enough to own a few air-cooled, 3.2 coupe, 930 coupe, 993 C2S etc, all of which were pristine examples but this little 964 has got under my skin it's just a great car to drive. Must admit I'm OCD with my cars.
I think most of us 964 owners have come to terms that there are body rust issues now that they're getting older. So many people willing to spend big bucks on paint and restoration is a sure sign of how popular these cars are. I hope you're going to keep it white. wink

Just finishing off my winter projects so that it's ready for another year. Nothing as back-breaking as last year when I tackled the interior strip out. eek This year's list was:

Fit new wing/scuttle seals
Remedy the squealing CCU fan
Brake fluid change and clutch slave bleed
A new set of Toyo R888s for the track wheels

and since the original exhaust tail pipe is now rusty and untidy, I've treated it to a shiny Dansk one cool

That's sweet! A nice finishing touch - actually prefer that to the oval.
Have similar little job to do - can I ask part number / where from?
Got it from Type911, here you go:

It's a tenner more than the slash cut version but I liked the look of the rolled lip better on this one.

Boxey so you on the july spa run then....great news
Yes David. The Spa and Zandvoort double header started off with a handful of us being interested. Currently there are 14 x 964s (including RSs and cups) booked plus a number of other Porsches in our group. Should be a good one!

You'll love those when they're on Ray. For me, putting on new suspension (KWV3 in my case) it the best upgrade the car has had. smile

Certainly was, a big end bearing had failed - for no good reason anyone can suggest as it's a low mileage car. Its currently with Russell Lewis enjoying a rebuild.

Expensive indeed but as one of many that's had a full rebuild on theirs, I can say that a re-freshed engine is a joy to use on these cars. smile

Olber, are they headlight rings in the pics or just the headlights without the rings? I ask because the headlight casings are black and I can't tell from the pics if you have the ring covers on them.

Cheers, putting them back to colour coded will look good IMO.

BTW, now that you've mentioned the possibility of selling be prepared for folks to PM you, such is the demand C2 coupes at the moment!

Sounds good - have any of them actually been in touch with the owner/seller? He tells me he's just a had a few timewasters and I'm not sure if any of them viewed & drove the car.
Only heard from them yesterday (asking me what I knew about it), so don't think they have been in contact yet. If it doesn't sell by March, it might be a good idea for him to show it off on the RS day. smile
