Rear ended at traffic lights, insurance write off. Cash settlement to be sorted but will not be much. So do I repair my one previous owner 1996 993 Targa tip? Or do I take the cash and leave it? Heavy rear quarter damage only. Engine still runs. But one whole wheel assembly destroyed. Mileage about 70k.
UK value, low £20k, local value about same, insurance payout.....not sure yet but surprised if it will reach £5k.

Thanks for all the help. I'm Middle East based so motor insurance here is a bit more challenging than in Blighty. OPC have given me an estimate of about £13k to repair the Targa. Other driver's insurance co have written it off as beyond economic repair. Basically anything over 7 years old here has no more value left in their eyes. So armed with printouts of similar cars for sale across the region I'm now off to argue with them about how much they are going to give me. Can't see it being enough to buy back the car and fund the repairs and I don't think spending that much of my own money to repair it is worth it. Seen a nice 996 turbo convertable...

Repair work started, she is going back on the road. All parts available, a busy next few weeks visiting OPC for coffee and progress updates

Luckily not UK based so car not listed. No pics, but can post the OPC bill.
