It wasn't that long ago that the 964 was for many the least desirable 911 ever made, and now they are all the rage.

I'd love to hear some of your opinions on why.

It would probably be handy to hear from people who aren't fans!

I agree - what's not to like - but there is no doubt that in the past many people found something...

Will the 997 suffer from the same fate given the bad press it's had re the engines lunching themselves?

OP back again - interesting posts and glad to see it grew some legs. Has it answered my original post - kind of.

The talk of values and investment always intrigues me. They may have gone up in value, but so has everything else!

Just look at that blue one above your post. I can't think there are many better looking cars for the money. They are beautifully built and great to drive. I know this can be said of most air-cooled Porsches but the 964, for me, just has that dash of je ne sais quoi,
Are you in the market for one? What about them has stirred you, or do you not really get their rise in popularity?
Hi Steve,

We are getting a lot of enquires about them at the moment and interest in 964 has really exploded from our perspective at least. I have always wondered why they were less favoured than the 993 but I do think the 993 is a better looking car. I guess some cars grow on you and rising prices of other 911 models seems to have helped the popularity of and appreciation for the 964. I'm beginning to think that the 996 is looking pretty good too.....

Ah....so this was all about market research for you then! scratchchin
Personal interest and a bit of market research - may have to do something on 964's on my blog.

Thanks for all the feedback folks. Couldn't resist the temptation to put pen to paper (briefly)

Porsche 964 - cooler and tougher than its younger adversaries
