I popped along to Classics on the Common, Harpenden yesterday to have a look at the fine array of classic cars on display. There was a nice selection of cars with some lovely 911's.

Owners pay £10 to display their cars and it's FREE to the public although they were collecting donations for charity. All in all a great little gathering which didn't feel too commercial!

Russ at JZM had brought down this 911 2.7 RS Replica (presumed it's a replica as it's a 1973 2.4).

A 1988 3.2 Targa Supersport

A superb looking 964 RS Replica originally in Cobalt Blue 964 C2, changed to Maritime Blue. (Sorry James I took the pic before we'd spoken and got your legs). A car that's certainly used as intended.

A flock of Ferrari's!

3.2 Carrera.

911 SC Targa

A 1976 Porsche 911 2.7.

A stunning 1969 silver Mercedes 280 SL Pagoda.

This was a 1988 3.3 turbo with forward dated bodykit and untaxed. Surely a restoration project!

Vintage Rolls Royce

A pair of stunning Iso Grifo's

A Ferrari Dino

A pair of Jag E-Types Roadsters!

And then I happened upon this superb 911 3.0 RSR Replica, based on an early 1972 car built and being shown by BS Motosport.

A nice Golf GTI Mk1 next to the 911 RSR Replica!

A Citroen SM

A Porsche 356 Replica

And a very British Mini!

Thanks G7JHP and good to meet you - sorry about my scrawny legs. Car was used as intended yesterday on a dawn raid.

Russ' car is indeed a beautifully executed recreation - the exact spec of the engine is still unknown, it is probably 3-litre.

I know the owner of the RSR Prototype recreation built by Neil Bainbridge. Here is a video of it's unveiling to the DDK massive at BS Motorsport a couple of years ago. It is wondrous.

I'd seen that some time ago, but didn't put the two together. You don't expect to see something as eyewatering at that at your local classic car meet! wink
