Hi there,
So what do you all have as your ideal 2nd car? I don't know what to go for? I don't have far to go to work each day (22 mile round trip), all no claims used on the Fez, in my 40's, rarely take passengers, wife has a car, considering cars with zero depreciation, sexy, rare so hold value etc.

So far on a £5k/£10k budget Ive considered
CL55 AMG
CL600 V12
BMW840 Ci
Boxster S
996 GT3 kitted
Early Cayenne
Early RR Vogue
Various kit cars
more money but like the Maserati Quatroporte, Bentley Arnage

So what have you?? :-)

Some great suggestions guys! Looked at the 968 but interior is a bit to old hat, M5 and 6 series are on the same vain as the 840Ci which I really do like and haven't owned one!!.
The Clio I'm not keen on however I do like the look of the Megane!
Had a 330 3 series coupe years ago, great car so the 330d will be a great alternative
Still don't know what to get, need a spark of inspiration from somewhere 😊😊😊

Just catching up on your posts, some great feedback I must say, still don't know what to get, I got soaked to the skin in the rain riding my road bike to work and back today, didn't fancy the motorbike and the F430 Spider stays in the garage following an unexpected Area Group Class award at the NW FOC Concours meeting yesterday at the Vale Royal Hotel http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/imgs/9.gif

Got rid of my LR RRS after it ballooned money every month I owned it obviously as it was new, did I like having a new car, at first yes but soon got bored and the depreciation of £30k, £1k per month of my ownership, finished me off.

I went over ten years driving all sorts from CAT D's, high milers to new imports (when there was a profit to be had) to flood damaged, etc etc all luxury/Sports cars and never lost money, bar one, a Porsche 997 3.8S GT3 kit that I loved so held on to for to long!!

My wife hates the classic exec big engined lumps and she has a point that I only need it for a 22 mile round trip to work, but I still need something that I'll like, safe in the knowledge it's rare and its not going to depreciate.

Who knows, but need to sort something rather quickly!!

smile

Ive only gone and purchased a pretty little 944 S2 from very nice 65 year old chap called Cliff, he's done all the mechanicals and its a very honest car, not concours, but very honest, all serviced, MOT'ed, £3k plus of recent work done lots of new stuff, brakes, tyres all round etc etc, he's suffering with his back hence the sale to me, luckily for me I got to him before weekend, he had several people wanting to place a deposit in his account before viewing!!

Love your thinking, very nice car that will only increase in value which was one of my criteria, the other was to stick to a £5k budget, which I'm pleased to say that I did, previous owner has a documented insurance backed eval of £6995.
Happy daysbiggrin

Not quite the cheap 2nd car, but should be fun!
