Oops someone is tetchy. Maybe you should increase your paper round and save up a bit more instead of trolling

biggrin he owns a 458 - must do loads of bloody paper rounds hehe
Would definitely only see the rear end of a 12C then when a 488 struggles to keep up as 488 to 458 performance is night and day.

Maybe he only does week day deliveries to avoid all the heavy sunday supplements

Agree its not just about speed but equally its not just about exhaust noise.

As a serial Ferrari owner I just felt the McLaren oozed class, exclusivity and quality and the carbon tub makes a huge difference to the whole convertible experience.
Being spoilt with the McLaren spider I can never see myself going back to a non carbon tubbed convertible - I just hate shake, rattle and roll

Lame car , lame jokes
Your so bitter about your car choice it's funny
So the 12C is a lame car ???? WTF Why would anyone be bitter if THEY CHOSE a McLaren over a Ferrari ???

I've had numerous Ferrari's and still own my F355 GTS manual with capristo which is simply a magnificent car so I don't get the bitterness apart from whats coming from you.
Maybe you are bitter you didn't get a ferrari or McLaren ?

But why talk about mclaren in the ferrari section??

Why doesn't the ferrari owners start threads in the mclaren forum??

I have the answer.... insecurity....

It's like football fans constantly bashing the best team that keeps on beating all other teams

Mumbo lambo can't seem to let it go
Its ok mate that you haven't got the best and most aspirational car/marque which everyone knows is Ferrari.
You chose the lesser car and you know it and that's what hurts.
I love it when envy consumes people to hate,it really highlights your weakness.

Us ferrari owners are used to and love the hate...
Envy ? Really ?

I've owned several Ferrari's, love the brand from boyhood and will never sell my F355GTS manual with capristo.

McLaren may not currently have the same brand strength as Ferrari but that does not mean its not perceived as being higher in the pecking order by the general public ( which is undoubtedly the response I get ) and its build quality is certainly second to none in my experience.

I buy what I personally think is the best car on the market for my needs at the time.
18 months ago that was clearly the 650S spider.
Today it might be the 488 Spider if I could ever live without the carbon tub which I think now unfortunately is a no for a convertible having been spoilt by the Mac.
The creeking and rattling from scuttle shake would drive me mad.
Carbon tub is the way forward for any supercar convertible IMHO

Because there's a bigger Ferrari fan base
Because there's a bigger Ferrari customer base
Because more people know about Ferrari than do McLaren
Because Ferraris marketing is excellent
Because Ferrari is a far wealthier and bigger conglomerate that is able to control prices better
And of course because more people are buying Ferraris (due to many of the above reasons and I'm sure other choices).

So your deduced logic is flawed. McLarens are bloody good, as are Ferraris I'm sure. What you can buy them for and what value retention they exhibit are based on many different criteria not just "how good" they are.

Ps enjoy your 458 Spider - I think you made the wrong decision especially if that's what you based it on thumbup
Absolutely spot on

For all those reasons you pay a prancing horse premium for what I consider IMHO as an inferior "product"
Why be a sheep

At last some sensible response to an absolutely nothing thread.

Going back to my question ..why start a mclaren thread in the Ferrari v8 forum.

Why do you persistently chime in about your macca when someone asks a question about what ferrari to get in the ferrari forum

Insecure or troll which is it.
Kiss my :

No thanks not even with yours

As for the colour really ????
No wonder your bitter.

:vomit
LOL.

First thing anyone mentions about the car before they even know what it is, is the colour. "Wow that colour is amazing ". If I had a £1 for every time someone said that I could buy 2 458 Speciales

Sorry but I'm afraid you are out of touch with reality and just show your ignorance with your posts.

Fair play though you can keep trying to wind me up but eventually as all trolls do you will return under your bridge.

Volcano Red rocks man and my local Ferrari sales manager even says it tops his favourite Rosso Fuoco which costs £15k because its deeper and more vibrant. There is a real depth to the paint with Mclarens that Ferraris don't seem to have.

Happy trolling and no doubt if you even own a Ferrari ( which I doubt ) its probably Rosso Corsa - Been there, done that several times, boring

You doubting I have a Ferrari is not the issue here

There you go again spouting about 'ferrari sales manager '
You are so obsessed with the marque it's ridiculous. To get the OK from a Ferrari connection makes it 'alright' then.

Your calling me a troll but it is you that owns a macca (supposedly) which keeps trolling the Ferrari v8 forum.

I'll ask again what are you still doing in the Ferrari V8 forum?
So you don't even have one laugh

Is there a Reliant Robin Forum ?

Look in your past posts and replies, your not really liked alot are you mate.

So again for the I think fifth time...

Why are you here in the Ferrari v8 forum talking again about your maclaren.

Also why doesn't ferrari owners frequent the maclaren forums.why??
Because all the young and smart ones have bought a McLaren, only leaving the old farts feeling inferior laugh

245 posts in 123 months. Why so insecure all of a sudden ? McLaren has really got to you shoot

You've had a 355, a 430 Spider and briefly a Scud. We know this since every one has been the best car on the planet during your ownership. As was the PET, and doubtless the next thing you buy. So i have to take your constant talking up of the 650 with a huge lump of salt since you are so fickle.
Thank you once again for your useful sorry useless comments. Talk about fickle - Now as all good trolls do please crawl back under your bridge for another 3 months and dream about owning a McLaren.
If I had a £1 for every constructive comment you had every made I would have a bigger debt than the GDP

650S moved the game on significantly again from early MP4 -12C with more power but more importantly 78Nm more torque.

The 488's power/torque is restricted in lower gears for a more linear and more N/aspirated feel to it so you don't get the full headline power figures Ferrari quote in the lower gears which is where the 650S can take it in a drag race because of its weight advantage due to be carbon tub

Wasn't a case of 'feeling' my 488 is quicker ...it actually is quicker! Rumbo Dumbo started this thread to get a response and he's got one! The video he has posted is way off the real world, much akin to "my fiesta beat a Porsche off the lights video"
458 is a superb car, had one and loved it, also a Speciale.

Unfortunately Rumbo now seems to want to discuss 650 vs 488 which might be a different conversation as I've only briefly driven a 650s.

I've a trackday soon, will update the results of 488 vs 650 wink

Edited by F355spider on Sunday 30th October 17:22
650S v 488 is more relevant even if the product change cycles are different and the Ferrari is 2 years newer.
I guess neither manufacturer will want to align this so a direct comparison can be drawn

I would be woefully disappointed if the 488 didn't smash the 650S as it is 2 years newer and about £100k more to buy
