Might sound a bit odd, been lucky to have a 2010 458 for almost 2 years, but decided to go 'backwards' to a 430 SCUD
Part of my rationale was that are 458's going down in value now including specials and would a good priced 430 RHD SCUD at £40k more be a better 3+Year investment and fun drive....will post some picts next week when pick up

who knows what will happen in the world and prices ! the 458 is an amazing car for sure ! when i drove it felt even more special than the 430 scud, but after 1.5 years of very enjoyable ownership have decided to invest a little more but go backwards?! to the scud as i think the limited numbers and harder interior, feel of the car is so enjoyable im going to give it a go again for a couple of years, if anything else is to go by for example the uplift in stradale prices (wish i had not sold that one 8 years ago !) then maybe this one will be a long term keeper and enjoy and investment....agreed the mrs wont like the interior as much as the 458 though ! its strange and interesting how the speciales have come down from upper £300's to lower £200's but i remember that with scud and stradale once the new model comes out and then after 5-8 years they go up again, so maybe the time to buy a speciale ! i wish ! but maybe the time to put in a deposit on the 488 lightweight edition too.....! they always get a premium when they come out....if only i had a couple of million to play with car investing.....may be not ! would be quite scary too ! delivery on wednesday, will keep you posted !

The ferrari design work for all its history, for me, have there own special piece of design in every car model they have produced and that's what makes them great, 348, 360, 458, 430 all my top ferrari cars but basically for different reasons all great all the models and more to come im sure. The 458 is a remarkable, really remarkable car, but ive had it a few years and fancied a return as i had a scud in 2008 time, its a beautiful car to look at and im my view more amazing to drive and for me that much improved from the 430 (perhaps not to justify twice the price) but its great, im certainly going to enjoy regardless of the pricing in the future as i think (who knows) this one could be a longer term keeper for me (i usually keep cars 1.5-2year) so we shall see, enjoy and hope to see you all around - hope these photos post up ok !

im not sure about the stripe, apparently they put it on to create more interest and help differentiate the scud from the 430 (which im not sure it did as they were thinking of now removing it!) but as its not factory finish and its not that great close up im thinking of removing it, they did off FOC but decided to see how i feel about it and possibly let a detailer remove and polish etc at same time.....then im thinking of getting front end paintshield protected as i remember the paintwork being much more susceptable to stone chips than the 458 (paint tech improvements?)

i have not had the opportunity to drive a speciale or a 488, but they are out of my league anyhow ! so im very lucky and happy to have the SCUD, i think the 458 i had before is a better car in many ways, of course it is the design development on many levels makes that understandable, but as the SCUD is limited edition and the engineers put a little extra 'something' (many things) in to these limited edition models be it, stradale, scuderia or speciale they feel very different machines to drive and its that thrill that i enjoy alot......
