Thanks Cheib.
The feeling of slow decline was the sort of vibe I was picking up. I'm not one to worry over depreciation, I've always accepted loses as part of the process but I'm going to order a 720 Spider when they are announced and I was looking for a car to hold onto a bit of money in the interim.
My 650S will continue to slide and as I may be looking at 18 months thumb-twiddling a Speciale seems like a nice place to be in the meantime.
More research required.

Very informative, thanks Graham.
If that trend continues then sitting tight on my 650S would probably work out about the same relatively speaking without the hassle of a car change.
Hmm.
All this goes heavily against the grain for me, I've always just been a "Buy it and damn the consequences" sort of bloke but here I am anylising markets, must be getting timid!

I have no idea where manufacturers are going to go with the future of road going supercars but more power and ever more capable handling is an utter waste of time. I wonder which one will be brave enough to say "enough is enough, from now on we are concentrating on fun"?
Bang on Leg.I've taken my 650S on a few Euro trips over the last 18 months, I've driven it on wonderfully fast, empty roads in perfect conditions and I cannot get at the car's limits, not even close. I will never need better handling or more power than this car has.
And yet, I'm drooling over the 720S (and possibly the Performante). I want more power, I want better handling, I fall headlong for all the teasers, the stats, the buzz phrases and the techno talk. I need this car in my life because it does everything better than before, it's just MORE dammit!!
Never mind manufacturers saying enough, when will we ever say enough?
They know we won't, unless we're forced to.
Good grief.
