I keep seeing these and the desire is growing! The new offering from Forza isn't helping either.
Having trawled through old threads 2 things keep coming up. Windows and shocks.
Windows - spare parts no spare parts, hours of work and £££ or an hour at an indie and its all fixed.
Is there any updated news here?
Shocks - £1k per corner every 3 years or a £80 rebuild cost again every 3 years or so. Any progress on the current thinking?
Bob Houghton isn't that far from me so I might pick his brain sometime but I'm assuming a decent car from a dealer with a (good) warranty shouldn't be too heart stopping. I can live with 2-3k a year with a reserve just in case but I'm thinking these tend to be looked after especially if it comes from a dealer (Rardley, Forza Emblem etc)

Thanks all. I don't think I'd chance a private sale as I'd want some support (unless maybe it was a good 5k less to allow for issues).
Good to hear there are fixes now.
M or not M? I imagine a MGT will be out of my range so again that nice blue 94 car at Forza... but it won't be this year.
Dave456 I'll drop you a line thanks for the offer.

I was specifically after a Rossa Corsa GT (not a M - they don't look as pretty without the Daytona bonnet scoops, in my opinion), and I was never going to notice the additional 6 bhp!

Of the 141 UK supplied RHD GTs (not GTAs), only 14 were Rossa Corsa - most are TDF or Silver in my opinion.

Rear seats (particularly if you get 5 seat option) are better in a M, as is stereo, but don't see much else - loss of moving rear spoiler too with M.

I drove 5 of the 6 for sale at the time I bought mine, and only 1 was private sale - I bought that one as it had the best history, and was the best car, so don't discount it.
I got a PPI, but the Ferrari specialist found nothing I hadn't already spotted, so I did feel it was a waste, but maybe was because the car was so good in the first place.

Take your time, and like I said buy the best you can afford.

Good Luck.
Thanks. There's a rosso pre MGT for sale now!

I'd forgotten about the bonnet. £17k wasn't it to replace?
I didn't think the prices has changed that much so far. Little goes up for less than £25k unless its really poor.
I'm just hoping there isn't a 993esq resurgence in the next 6-12 months.
