Hi smile

I've been tasked by a friend with finding a fun 'investment' Ferrari. I use investment lightly as i reckon reckon classic cars are more gambling then anything at these levels. Budget max 200k. I know nothing about Ferrari's, but the 512 seems a good idea to me, but really I am (he is) open to ideas.
Problem I find is the spread is ridiculous on Ferraris, I see for me identical cars (512tr in this example) that vary from 100-150 in asking price.

Are there any decent dealers out there that will find/sell you a good car at the right price or is it shark infested water?

Recognise this tune : da dum da dum da dum etc ?

be prepared to lose half your (sorry your friend's) investment

Most of the cars listed here qualify as they have probably doubled already 5[/footnote]
This is obvious and old news. Prices are what they are, the question is what is the best buy today at todays prices. What has been is irrelevant.

Sitting on cash is always gonna be riskier in the long run.

I suppose investment is the wrong term. He is looking for a fun usable classic Ferrari, up to 200k. Disregard investment comments. smile

Collectablity does not change only values

Nearly a Ferrari and high on my list would be an Alfa 8C
Nice car but not what he is looking for. Specifically looking for a classic Ferrari, he has other cars for other uses.

I'll sell him my Scuderia for £200K(ish) - Sounds like just the classic he's looking for ;-)

Still expect 'him' to be along any moment with of course the correct investment decision you friend should take...

Over to you GRBF430F1...
Not quite classic enough smile

Why isn't he searching himself? He wants some help which is good for me, the deal is I find a car and I get to swap cars (930 here) occasionally. smile

To reiterate, investment isn't the first priority, I wish I could change the thread title.

550 and 360 are too modern.

What is the going price for a f40 these days? Do they change hands at the advertised 700+ ?

We talked about the 330, but it's not the right car.

Countach is a very good shout!

Agreed ThevanV, I actually think there is a good chance of a pullback, and if so the top is definitely missed by a few months. Crash won't(!) happen as money is still plentiful and cheap.

I should've omitted investment in the title.
