Well I wanted a car that I would be able to keep for 10 years and just enjoy, looking at all the obvious choices the Performante won me over on looks, noise, soundtrack and the overall character that it offers.

I love the car but my problem is I just like trying out everything, scratch the itch i guess. Should I try and get past my itch this time ? and how?

Yes I can keep it and hope to get a new 991.2 GT3 next year to go alongside, just sold my mental 750hp Nissan R34GTR so do have a space in the garage! you could well be right about regretting it if i dobanghead

Are you in a position to keep it and get something else as well? I suspect it may be the one you regret selling a few years down the line.

As one person summarized on here we are all similar, car nuts, enthusiasts albeit different at the same time! I am just asking for opinions, other peoples thoughts,a look from a different perspective. I could drive myself mad constantly buying different cars and I admire to a degree people who buy what they want and then just keep it. Aren't forums here for this very reason.

To me the days of fastest doesn't mean the car gives you the best experience,I could have bought a more technically competent car than the Performanate but the Performante offered the better soul and character.I still love the car, just asking for alternative opinions as I struggle to stick with cars long term.

Maybe the Performante will be the next 16M, I've not driven one but they cant be a World apart when comparing the spec?

Maybe I will regret selling if I do, maybe I will stick with it!

Hi Juno,

As you say it's about sharing thoughts and experiences. So to share. I sold my 570-4 SL four years ago when I went to work abroad. Like your Performante I absolutely loved that car and worried about how I would replace it. I'm now back in the UK and have taken delivery of a Huracan 610, with just 1,000 miles on it.
I've been completely blown away by how good the car is. From studying the wonderful design features such as the subtle double bubble roof to the mundane stuff like filling the tank in one go without multiple shut offs.
The acceleration and double clutch gearbox are a revelation, the Satnav much improved, the TFT display brilliant. The interior has such clean and distinctive lines, no undue fuss just subtle and beautiful.
There will always be advocates of old skool is best, fair enough, but for me the advances are enormous and user friendly. You can actually drive around in Strada Auto whilst you soak up the design features, listen to the (sports) exhaust and enjoy the positive reactions of other road users and pedestrians, whilst you wait for the opportunity for Sports or Corsa manual.
Try it if you haven't already and of course Lambo have just trade marked Huracan Performante!

F12 has been a consideration and I hope to be on the GT3 and RS list going forward !

I think the Performante (or generally the Lambo spyders) are among the few cars that look good as convertibles.
What is the budget for a replacement if you decide to move it on?
For a different experiece - what about an F12 - glorious engine
A 991 RS for the track performance
A Speciale if your budget is that high
An LP640 to stay with Lambo

I am not out of love, went out in the car at the weekend and it is truly epic and exciting, looks great and really enjoyed the drive. The sheer disbelief of pedestrians and other road users make you chuckle Lol.

I hope to get a new GT3 next year so maybe I should just stay with the Perf as it is so different to the GT3 therefore making a nice pair!

As you say so much choice these days, would like to try 458,488,430SCUD,Huracan,Aventador, F12, 675 P14,Ultima,Speciale,570,GT3 GT3RS,GT2RS and R35GTR Nismo that will take some doing!!!

Juno.... well that love affair didn't last long !! :-)

Seriously though - I get where you are coming from, the 'problem' is nowadays is that there's so much (excellent) choice - temptation lurks around every corner.

What do you replace it with though? As you yourself have mentioned before, the Perf really ticks a lot of boxes for the money. Sure there's loads to choose from but if you want noise / performance / open top & looks then the the G Perf takes a lot of beating ( at that price point anyway..)

So the upshot of my post is : I have no advice to offer !

What a strange post. Asking strangers if they know your mind better than yourself. Cars are an emotive personal choice, that only you can answer, not random Internet people.
Nothing strange about this. I've often struggled with the 'keep the Scud or sell and enjoy numerous options out there' question - if you cant discuss here with like minded others then you're on the wrong forum mate!

OP - For my similar situation (if this helps) I've decided to keep the Scud as it is just too good to let go (plus has that added classic status) and squirrel away the cash to add the second car - in this case (hopefully) my names down for a 991.2 GT3
