New Posting Rules? Well it’s about fking time!

Can I have a clarification please?

As you’ve now made it a rule that you cannot bypass the swear filter; can I ask for a little clarification, please?

Obviously if I type a rude word, like ybks, and your system censors it then that is fine.

What happens if I censor my own word? So, forex, I type “ ****.” Is that bypassing the swear filter or not?
I would say it is but would like your steer on it please.

Also, what happens if a user types a word which, though offensive, is not included in your filter list? I once posted a list of offensive words to demonstrate how ineffective the filter was and of course the mods couldn’t be bothered to craft an intelligent reply and simply deleted my post. Nor, last time I checked, had they been bothered to edit the swear filter to include the words I had brought to their attention.

And you have made no comment on images/pictures that contain rude words. Will users be treated as avoiding the swear filter if they post an image that contains a word that would otherwise be filtered if it were a text entry?

There are also some historic members whose usernames contain words that would now be not allowed (or would be censored): are these users going to be forced to change their nicknames or will you magnificently and hypocritically ignore this so in effect the users will be seeing the odd uncensored swearword regardless of your rules?
Of course you censoring your own word doesn't contravene the rules.

If somebody is genuinely offended by a word not covered by the swear filter then we will remove it. I'm not surprised a post full of swear words was deleted, surely it would have been better to maybe censor them yourself so we knew what they were?

If an image contains a swear word then it will be deleted when we become aware of it as should have been the case historically.

Regarding usernames we will look at these on a case by case basis.

I hope that answers your questions thumbup

Nathan
