On both my desktop and laptop machines, running IE, I am having intermittent problems highlighting text on PH.

Highlighting in what sense?

  • Being able to select it using the mouse and copy text
  • Showing up your own posts in blue
  • Something else
Sorry, selecting text using the mouse for the purposes of copying or deleting. However it's working at the moment.

I bet it is probably related to some ad on the page taking over the mouse events, or such like - next time - can you take a note of any ads on the page to see if we can replicate it... and then give an advertiser a little slapped wrists.
Will do. It happened a couple of times today.

Oh and another thing: I cannot use the scroll bar on the right until the rectangular advert top right has fully appeared, which is not immediate. Is this a related problem?

The Talk Talk advert above is also stopping me highlighting.

They have updated something - and looks like it is working.

Let us know if all ok again?
I haven't had the highlighting problem again so far.

But I am still having problems with that advert top right. It's slow to load and until it does I cannot scroll down.

Still having a problem with slow loading ads top right and the page being un-scrollable until they appear.

I would suggest that you try a different forum skin out as they load the ads slightly differently and may help.

Under My Info > Preferences

You can choose a different skin - I would suggest Big Blue, as this isn't much of a change apart from how the menu works at the top.
Tried that and it's no better.

The problem is the same on my laptop and desktop, I am having no issues with other sites.
