Apologies if repost or whatever.

But I had a few audio adverts today. very annoying. lucky I am at home not the office.

They appeared on a forum tab that was open but had been so for about 2 minutes

please turn them off or i will just go back to using adblock.

I can't remember the thread it was on, I think maybe "an illicity encounter" or "Company has changed car policy, ignore it and enjoy my barge" but may have been another (really sorry) but it was defo a disneyland advert.
About 10:50am this morning

It was one of the mid-page adverts that appear on the right hand side of the page and indents the post it's next to if you know what I mean.

Autoplaying ads are still obnoxious even without audio. I certainly will be keeping adblock on if PH consider autoplaying video ads acceptable.
Also not nice for bandwidth. (4g)

If interested it should be click to play

Thank you for your continued feedback and reports of unruly ads. We are working to get them sorted as soon as possible.

Many thanks and apologies for the annoyance,

To be honest, you said the same 4 months ago.

Obviously not.

You = PH advertising team as a whole.

Since it's probably not Jack's fault directly, he is just the contact point.

Once again you are wrong, I, (& I think all mods) disagree with audio ads.
Probab;y all auto play adverts.
And yet, myself and many others are still getting them.
Despite giving exact time date and page information they still play.

Forgive me if I don't share your faith in them to resolve the issue.

Hi all,

Thank you for the continued reports about the unruly audio ads, it really helps us clamp down on them. The Hulu ad has been blocked!
Please can I ask that when you report the ads to, its incredibly helpful to have as much info about it as possible. Most specifically the click through URL, and any kind of description of it (e.g. the advertiser, the size/shape of the ad, etc.) so that we can get rid as soon as possible!

Thank you again smile

Jack
Nothing like having your un-paid user Community do all the hard work for you when the lazy marketing people sit with their feet up.

Not at all, it would be near impossible to monitor every forum and every ad on PH (it is quite a large site after all...) unless we had unlimited resources, which unfortunately we don't. So asking members to report unruly ads and give us 'website feedback' doesn't seem at all unreasonable to me, quite the opposite actually!

Cheers,

Jack
I know it's not your fault. And I'm not pissed off with you.

But myself and many, many other users have been suffering from automatically playing Audio Adverts for a long, long time.

Nothing changes.

PH should be in full control of what types of adverts are allowed on it's site - It is not. That is a failing of your marketing/web teams.

I'm all for user feedback of forums, bugs and weird behaviour, but this is not weird behaviour at all.

It's piss-poor running of the website and adverts and been reported multiple times by multiple users and yet WE STILL HAVE THEM!
