Tempted by an LP 640, never driven one before but quite fancy one of these as a older proper Lambo, the presence, noise and experience etc is the main purpose for it rather than outright speed.

I know clutch life isn't great but what other things should I look out for? Also the 2007 white car at £139 looks nice but missing the carbon interior bits. Anyone able to comment on the price/mileage/spec of it? I know it has carbon engine bay, lift kit, white stitching on leather, e-gear and ceramic brakes.

Also what have prices been doing on Murcielagos in general? Only just started looking recently.

Cheers

The colour doesn't look like the normal Verdi green I've seen, looks faded or a wrap? Also does appear to be a bargain if vat can be claimed back but I don't think I could get away with it. Also the headlights and very little detail in the add my gut feeling is not to go near it.

I just spoke with Matt @ Jestream - he said you had bought one. When you're up there let me know, would like to see it as Im thinking about one. Not sure about the e-gear though?

Hi Jon,

The car will be getting transported to Edinburgh tomorrow or Friday but feel free to head in if you have time and tell Sales manager Paul I said you can have a poke around it.

Think manual cars are almost impossible to get hold of but the E-gear I've driven in Ferrari's and other Lambos has been fine.

Picked it up yesterday, It's a bit of a beast, it's big and awkward to drive at low speeds as the E-gear doesn't like town driving and the visibility is pretty bad but on an open road and pressing on it comes alive, the induction roar above 4500rpm makes me laugh like a 5 year old and it's got proper beef, even for an 'old' Supercar its staggering performance. The steering is a bit heavy for my liking but the ceramic brakes are up there with some of the best I've experienced. Well built and comfortable interior which I didn't expect either, A truly great car!

Will get some better pics soon

How bad is it? I'm looking to buy a 640 in the next month or so, but the E-gear worries me. I think there were only a handful of manual 640's supplied in the UK, so realistically it seems if I want a manual car I'm going to have to have an older non 640 model.

I intend on using the car every day including a commute, and my benchmark for a good daily driveable semi-auto is a DCT E9X M3. The single clutch Murci semi auto is obviously not going to be as 'friendly' as a DCT/DSG, but do you think it's likely to be acceptable or impossible?
Well I drove through edinburgh when I picked the car up the drive was a pain, if I lived in a city I wouldn't own one. I struggle to understand why on earth people own them if they live in London or places like that. The clutch pick up in first gear is slow if your moving in traffic and not smooth when cold, by the time the car is warm I'd be at my work. It's absolutely not a daily driver for me but it is great at cruising along on 60/70mph roads.

I think a test drive is best, everyone has different opinions and you'll need to base your decision on the type of commute you have.
