I currently have a Gallardo LP570-4 SL Technica Edition which is a great car. However, I feel I need for a full fat v12 car with those iconic scissors doors, looks and sound. The car of choice will be an Aventador.

Unfortunately I can't currently stretch to the SV which would be superb. So I'm looking at a used example and I'd like to understand which options are essential, which are nice to have and which year is the best year to go for. Also, if anyone can provide details of servicing costs this would be fantastic.

I'm look at buying in Q1 2017 as long as I can find the right car. Hover if the right comes up this may be sooner.

Many thanks in advance,

GoM

You don't say which V12............?
Ah yes, bit of a school boy error - apologies. The V12 in question would be an Aventador.

The Aventador probably has an annual running cost close to a 670, small service 1k, large 3k at MD, regardless of mileage.
If that's the case then I'd be fairly happy with that as it's in line with my LP570. I'd obviously need to factor in the increase in cost of consumables.

I'm just waiting for an insurance quote which should be interesting....

Thanks for the info.

What about a Murci SV
I'd love to buy one, but the prices seem to be in a similar ball park to the Aventador SVs - which are out of my budget, even with man maths and beer applied to the calculations. I'm still looking at options but I think I need to budget for a 2014/2015 car with interior and exterior carbon packs.

Thanks for the reply and suggestions guys.

I'm juggling a few projects at the moment so the actual timescales are a little fluid. Hopefully sooner rather than later in 2017 but I'm happy to wait to find the right car.

I think that this will mentally tick a box that it's a 'real' Lamborghini rather than a share platform variant. Wrong time of year to get the full experience but test drives are being arranged.

If I get the same colour as my Gallardo SL do you think the other half will notice.... :-)

[quote=S1M VP]Did you get a car sorted OP ?

Thanks for the feedback - it's pretty much confirmed my thoughts/hopes about the ownership experience. As to sorting something out... nope, I'm being a bit of a blouse and can't quite make my mind up. If I was buying an SV then it would be a no brainer, it would be a done deal as they look amazing - but unfortunately the funds are not permitting at this time.

So options are currently range from buying a car with a view to upgrading to an S or SV later down line, or skipping the current Aventador and buying a Huracan Performante and then upgrading for an S or SV. I must admit I like the new front end on the S over the current car plus the other improvements, but it's still a fantastic looking machine. I'm also going to the Huracan Performante preview in Feb so this will rule in or out this option.

Realistically, I don't think that I'll be disappointed with any of the options but it has to be a V12 at some point... :-)

Looking forward to seeing pictures of your S and SV when they land.
