Making my first forays into Lamborghini ownership and coming here via the 458 classifieds.

Current 650s spider and DB9 GT Volante convertible owner looking to add another roadster to the mix amongst the other coupes. Having looked for a 458 and realising a well specced 458 isn't really far off one of my poster cars the Aventador.

Simple question, does the Aventador roadster roof leak? In reality I will be using it mostly with the roof up unless at the peak of summer but the 650s roof leaks occasionally and it's a real pain. I would rather go for a coupe if the roof is tempremental.

I don't have the budget for an SV and I really dislike the Aventador S front bumper so I'm looking for an LP700 roadster. I've read the advice of buy the latest car possible, does this apply to roadsters as well? I think my budget will get me a 2013/14 car.

Every car I've looked up has a lift button on the dash, however my research tell me this was an option. Do some cars have the button without the lift mechanicals in place? They all also seem to have a reverse camera but this was an option also?

Thanks for the feedback, the main reasons for purchase are the engine and the drama.

I won’t really be using it for spirited drives or trackdays, I have more sensible and smaller cars like a 991 GT3 and R8 V10.

This must be the only V12 mid engined car in my budget. I think an S coupe would be in budget but I think for my use a roadster on a sunny day would be more memorable than an S coupe.

Also there seems to be a handful of roadsters for sale and even fewer S models. The prices are holding very strong, a friend bought his 700-4 roadster 3 years ago with 9k miles for 180k, it’s probably worth the same with double mileage.

If anyone knows of cars for sale let me know, I’m keen to avoid GVE as they have a couple of cars that fit the bill.

What’s the independent service network like for looking after these cars?

I’ve spotted SRB and Supercar room. Anything further north/west (I’m based in West Wales).

Off topic, but for the 650 roof leak, make sure the rubber strip across the centre of the roof is fitted properly. On my first one, it wasn't - it was all squashed into the plastic channel, when it should "hook over" - that's what caused mine to leak occasionally. Once I put the strip in properly it was fine.
The guys at V engineering sorted this out for me. I haven't taken it out in the rain for a long time but I'm sure it's fixed as it was only a tiny drip.

Thanks Lambo666, can you divulge who the specialist is?

One thing peculiar I noticed with this car is the fact it appears to have an Aventador SV dash without the silver circular trim around the speedo, I wonder as it's a 2015 car it was one of the last LP700 so the factory started putting the later dash in?

I’ve also just realised the Revuelto orders should start to be delivered right about now….

So a fair few more Aventadors coming to the market I’m hoping.

(To the member that reached out offering their S coupe, thank you but I’m really holding out for a roadster.)

I would be very surprised if anyone taking delivery of a Revuelto will be px an LP700 against it. An SVJ or an Ulitimae possibly.
It surprised me but I’ve come across 3 AV roadster owners who have one owner cars that are selling up to get a Revuelto. Early adopters who want the original version not the later iteration.

I know similar McLaren owners who bought a new 12C, kept it alongside later variants and either sold for a P1/Senna.

I don’t know what the percentage is but I bet there’s a few more out there.
