Hi guys. I am looking at buying a Mclaren 12C. I have my eye on a 2013 model. Anything I should really look out for?

Yes I dealt with London but the car is in Sevenoaks. Have too say though I am actually very sad to see my XKRS go. I got quite attached to it. Silly I know. But new day, new car and I'm sure it will be fun.

First impressions...wow what a car. So much to take in and learn. The ride is stunning. Everything they say. About the ride is true. The finish on the car is superb. But anyway..lots to learn and further posts n pics to follow.

Hi, well another update. Love the car but..who designed the car with the seat buttons under your left leg?? Totally the wrong place. i have switched on the heated seats numerous times...GGrrr...also had the centre console decide to do an update for what ever reason and it failed. Black screen and you can't reboot it. So left the O2 with no nothing on the screen at 11pm last night. Tried stopping the car and restarting but nothing. Got home and went out this morning to find it still black and it saying that update failed. For crying out loud Mclaren....really not a good start. The radio even though it has the Meridian System is frankly useless. I like my music when i'm driving and i would have put the iPod on but i couldn't because the system failed. Please Mclaren...you charge enough for the car..put DAB in it. FM/AAM just doesn't cut it.

I have been in touch with Mclaren....waiting since 9.00 am this morning for a call back. Got an email saying..."mmm that's strange". Will get back to you but as i write this nothing. Mine was i am told the last Volcano Red out the factory. Brand spanking new. I arranged to pick the car up at 10.30 last Friday....it was 1pm by the time i drove out because they had had issues downloading all the updates. I know this sounds silly but they had the car a week down at Sevenoaks (The Service Centre) why not get them done instead of waiting till i was about to pick the car up. I have some other issues which came to light over the weekend. The main concern is when reversing the whole car shudders..it really doesn't like going backwards. Plus the tickover seems really high. Don't know whether that is because of the Turbo's but when in traffic i have to stand on the brake pedal otherwise it just creeps forward. When i mean stand..i mean stand...not just a light touch this is the whole way down to hold the car. So soon learnt to put it in neutral when standing in traffic. Plus points....sounds amazing. Drives amazing, handling amazing which sort of balances the problems. Am sure we will get there. Trouble i like to get in my car and drive not worry whether the screen will go black for 2 days..had all that s*** in my BMW M6. Well..call from Mclaren. Seems it's a software issue. Going to pop it over to them now so they can reset the tickover and the other issues. HAPPY DAYS...smilesmile

Further Update: I took the car over to Mclaren at Sevenoaks afterwork today.Bless them they stayed late for me. It was immediately diagnosed as a failed update when i got the car. 1 hour later..all done and i have to say a totally different car. Smooth, very responsive, tick over down. Need to get the DAB update sorted which will be done in a couple of weeks. Apparently there is a further software update for all MP4-12C cars coming in the next couple of weeks. The technician who sorted the car was really helpful and took time to explain what had happened etc etc. All in all really pleased now. it was good drive home..hehe

All i know is there are further software updates to ISIS. The DAB is an option but can only go into the latest MP4's. i.e. those with the wires in the front screen. Otherwise you have to have a new front screen.

I have the reversing camera and it works fine. Having said that because the picture is "portrait" it's about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
