While I quite like his quick reviews, his Monza track time in his new 675 was sadly lacking.

https://youtu.be/HbPQ0Sobkng

I've been lucky enough to ride / race it 3 times and it is 'the' best track, with Curve' grade' (turn 3 ) actually being the maddest / best corner on track (actually anywhere in Europe). Time spent in the car park with cars rev'ing is time lost on track. I thought he took the car down there to give it the beans....

Shame as I did think he was a semi petrol head, now this vid shows more the bling monkey side...

Come on Shmee we want to see more of what the LT can do, less bling, staged shots that just scratch the surface!

Time to take your channel to the next level - you have the car, now let's see if you have journalistic cahoonahs!

😆

Im pretty sure hes still running in the car, probably why he didnt push it,
There's a perfectly good FF sat there ready to go! smile

also when he was on the track it was technically closed and without the necessary security measures.
Sure for the photo's otherwise it was a normal track day...

Like I said, just hope he show's us a bit more of 'Shmee the racer' now he has the tools for the job. Bravo to him for spec'ing the LT in that blue BTW - does look stunning...

Just to add to the above, Shmee had his car delivered to by Italy/Germany (I can’t remember which) direct from his dealer with less than 100 miles on the clock. If it was yours would you go and thrash it straight away or do the sensible thing and run it in as per McLaren instructions.

Also I think even Shmee would be the first to admit he is no racing driver, if you check some of his recent video’s where he is receiving instruction he has a long way to go before he can purport to having Chris Harris levels of car control
As said earlier... "There's a perfectly good FF sat there ready to go!" biggrin

What a strange thread - stinks of a bit of jealousy tbh. How anyone funds their car(s) is their own personal business imo. I'm not a huge fan of Schmee's videos because I don't really like his presenting style but each to their own - he drives some lovely cars so must be doing something right.
Precisely, it seems like a uniquely British trait to be jealous of another person. As above, I'm not a huge fan but only because I find his campy presentation manner strange, but respect to him for his enthusiasm which comes across clearly.

He's a young lad and is clearly enjoying his life and sharing these experiences. He doesn't really need to justify himself to anyone, if you don't like it don't watch. While I have never watched one all the way through, they are interesting to skip through and definitely attempt to give the viewer an insight into the cars. Less focus on himself and more on the cars and I would watch more.

Listening to his accent, it can't be such a huge mystery i9f one were to guess he comes from a wealthy background, it is really nobody's business but his own how he buys his cars and he should not have to justify, using this rationale we could ask how every young lad we see driving a Ferrari in Knightsbridge affords one. Bombshell news, a lot of people in London have wealthy parents, so what!!
Hmmmmmm think the thread is now somewhat off topic.

Don't care about the how and means, more interested that now he's stepped up to the next level of cars be great to see him give them the beans a bit more rather than the usual staged cruising and especially as he was at Monza.
I actually quite like his vids, 20 mins viewing with a cup o tea in the eve...

Given that most of his driving is on public roads do you not think he'd be a complete idiot to post videos of him at speed, regardless of whether the Speedo is on show or not? On camera its all by the book. If I where him I'd be giving it some off camera which I'm sure he does. He's got a lot to lose now after all.

To me its as much about his lifestyle as it is about cars now and I'm sure he has a lot of people living vicariously through him.
Agree, not intending to goad him in to losing his ticket. If you re-read the title my comments are directed at his (lack of) track action, especially in the FF. Just be good to see the petrol head emerge rather than the Forza bling monkey.

Apologies for continuing to be off topic but I'd love to see some pictures of that car when it arrives. Sadly getting a hold of a tdf was pretty tricky or impossible in our case. frown
If you think about the opening post we are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off topic! Lol...

On a personal note I think the 675LT Spider goes completely against the ethos of what the LT were supposed to be having bought into McLaren's initial story at the coupes launch. I totally got what were trying to do. The 675LT Spider to me is the hairdresser’s version. Tim no offence meant. If I was a McLaren head honcho I would never have signed it off and coupe owners have every right to feel they have been lied too
Jeeesssussss..... I've never heard such drivel. A carbon tub'd convertible Uber (mini p1) super car is now classed a hairdressers car... WTF???

All these 675LT owners kicking in up a stink over the release of a convertible need a serious reality check.

Ok... let's take your crazy ethos argument. What is the ethos of the 675 and why chopping the roof off (and remaining near as damned it rock solid) makes this a lesser car?

FYI Enzo Ferrari, a man with racing in his soul insisted all his cars where possible should have a convertible option.

Not only does the spiders loose the purity of the coupes looks in my eyes but is also less aerodynamic and has less focus as a pure performance car. Plus you will not be able to fit the roll cage, harnesses or the roof scope so it’s going to appeal a lot less to those who track their cars.
Yep... lol... I stand corrected!!!

Seriously, when they chop the top off this (assuming youre lucky enough to drive one) you won't be short changed.

It doesn't make the Spider a lesser car, it just makes it less 'pure'. If the LT is to be seen as the ultimate version of the 'Super' series 6 range, then adding the weight of the folding roof mechanism goes against that ethos. The same principles are why BMW never made an M3 CSL with a folding metal roof, Porsche never made a 911 GT3 RS convertible, Ferrari never made a F40 roadster, or even why McLaren never made a rag-top F1.
Oh I see...

Ferrari / Porsche must have missed the 'what is pure - not a spider' memo then...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_F50 - only in spider format / removable roof

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_Carrera_GT - only in spider format / removable roof

http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/laferra... / spider option

wink
