Prices on the up
Discussion
As everyone else seems to be talking prices and sellers are thinking of a number and adding a nought when advertising interesting to see this car re appear £10k more expensive.
Is it the first sign prices of the mighty McLaren 650s are finally on the up as summer demand increases and no more production means supply is limited

"new" price on that is misleading
They have added up the list price of each option when nearly all were part of one pack or another
I paid £20k more for a new build with a similar spec (no sports exhaust and less CF)
Agree pack prices are cheaper than individual components but even so its a high spec car and considerable saving off list. They have added up the list price of each option when nearly all were part of one pack or another

You pays your money and takes your choice. Like you I decided to go the new route and pay a premium only because I'm ultra fussy about my cars. Its the only way I know exactly how its been driven and looked after.
If you got a car built to spec for £210k you have done well. I bought a stock car in December and got a very good deal and TBH I don't think I would of specced it any differently. The only thing extra I would of considered at the time was the surround sound 3 extra speakers upgrade but at £3k and coming from behind the seats where the exhaust window is located it would of been a waste in hindsight IMHO.
I much rather listen to the exhaust sound with the roof up and window down

excuse me if i've got my wires crossed, but aren't you that chap GRBF430F1 who flogs korean crap for a living ?
How rude ?! Apart from being factually incorrect What's that got to do with anything ? Are you the chap that still desperately aspires to own a car with a 7 year manufacturers warranty but cant afford it ?

It would be good to balance this thread with a link to your earlier thread "I lost a shed load on my 650S from new"
Well not really Dave because its not the case. Yes I've lost a little for a new car premium but in the scale of things its not vastly different from any of the other supercars I bought 2nd hand in some cases.Maybe I bought it right being a December stock car

I have one....
I also have a little pot of cash, that the wife has an eye on to turn into a new kitchen so need to spend it quick...
If I sold it (the 12CS not the wife) - what next ???? ...I cant justify the £40k to a 650s spyder
So in many ways values are irrelevant ..what I would like to see is the price gap to the 650s reduce(sorry 650s owners ) .....
or 991 GT3 RS/ 675LT or Aventadors drop significantly (fat chance of this)
That's like wanting your cake and eating it. The missus wants me to buy a big house with 6 garages but to do it I need to sell 3 of the cars - I also have a little pot of cash, that the wife has an eye on to turn into a new kitchen so need to spend it quick...

That's NOT GOING TO HAPPEN

I'm trying so hard to love McLaren - and for the most part I do - British, Supercars, Great Looking cars, but RamboLambo just keeps putting me off! They have really got under my skin - but (and I guess you can say this about any manufacturer) - they seem to attract the odd wierdo.
Feel the force Luke, its strong Hey I love my Ferraris and Lambos as well.
Don't let YOU being a weirdo stop you buying one you will be in good company
You could always buy a Kia

12c will always underpin 650S prices.
The fact 12c prices have strengthened will have knock onto 650S.
They are also linked to 458 prices which are still string albeit for the same price the Ferrari will be 2 years older.
Whilst 12c was the original I see 650S as a stronger proposition as it addressed the criticism and flaws of 1st gen car

Looks are in the eye of the beholder.
Very subjective but one of the reasons I didn't buy a 12c was the front end lights and bumper.
Thought they were very bland and UN supercar looking.
As soon as I saw the P1 style swan lights on 650S I went wow and thought 12c was an ugly duckling in comparison.

Drove 12c spider and 650s Spider, paid more for the 650s and made my choice. Was a no brainer for me, the car was much more cohesive as a drive and I much preferred the looks as I really don't like the lights of the 12c.
I'm sure others think the complete opposite.
Hmmmm must be a moral there somewhere.......
Well that's at least 2 of us who made the same conclusions and decision. There is no denying its a better car and those who cant see that are delusional or just don't want to admit it IMHO. I'm sure others think the complete opposite.

The looks are subjective but just like you I think the front end really let the 12c down by being far too bland but if it wasn't for the additional cooling required I would of liked the dual side vanes of 12C to have been carried over.
Don't get me wrong 12C is a fantastic car but 650S takes all the good bits and makes them greater particularly with reagards to the sound and feel where it comes alive and feels far more exciting

I don't think I've seen anyone say the 12c is the better car? It's not. Obviously.
But, there seems to be a large number of people who much prefer the 12c's aesthetics, me included.
To me, the 650s is like the GTR, I really want to like it, but I just can't. The 650s front looks like a frog to me.
Yes, on technical spec sheet, the 650s is of course the "better" car. But that doesn't mean that with the passage of time, that that will always be reflected in the desireablity of the two cars.......

Its a beautiful swan not a frog

Volcano Red makes a BIG difference to the look of a 650 IMHO
(but then I'm biased )
I cant disagree but I would still take ANY colour 650S spider over a volcano red 12C based on looks alone.(but then I'm biased )
I even prefer the P1 inspired front headlights and front end more so than the 570S. They seem longer/wider and sleeker.

Insane. No one in their right mind is going to pay that sort of money regardless of mileage and condition for a vanilla flavour 360.Think of a number, add a 0 on the end and hope some sucker takes the bait

The most frequent comments I get about my 650S:
I. I didnt think it was supposed to be that loud.
2. It looks a lot better in the flesh than in photos
3. The longer you own it, the better it gets
I have done 3000 miles in all conditions this last year. I have never done that sort of milage in any collectable I own. Nuff said
Mine was sounding louder than ever tonight. Don't know whether it was the balmy 20C evening or the fact its just turned 4,000 miles and starting to free up a bit more.I. I didnt think it was supposed to be that loud.

A poster on McLaren Life said her 12C was noticeable faster and louder at 20,000 miles.
I don't know if I can wait 5 years.
I even had the obligatory " Is that a P1 mate ?" Always makes me smile that they think its a £2m car
