Good afternoon all

Could someone in the know please give me an indication what a reputable dealer would offer (trade to buy) for a 2011 plate car with full Mclaren service history and around 10k on the clock?

Many thanks

Thanks for all the replies.

My assumption was around 10k less than what you see advertised currently in dealers.

The reason I ask the question is they appear excellent value for not much more than 100k

For the time being they are slightly out of my budget for a 4th car but I will watch the market closely, not that I can see them drifting much from there current price range.

Some interesting comments.

Now mclaren have some new cars coming out do you guys think prices of the 12c will drop below 100k, if so where do you think the bottom of a car like this is if the car market goes into a downward trend?

If prices keep as they are or creep up surely that is the best for the person owning it as long as you like driving it? IF they get too high it will then become a worry every time you go out in it and it then gets stuck in the garage.
Well, someone thinks this low spec car is worth £140k...........

First car is £135,000, 4,000 miles and appears well but not highly specified.
Second car is £99,500, 18,000 miles, well specified but LHD
Third car is £150,000, 6,000 miles and very highly specified
Fourth car is £119,000, 19,000 miles and very low spec.

For the first car take the fourth car as a starting point and value 1,000 miles at £1,000 and that adds £15k, add better spec at £5,000 and that gives you £134,000, almost bang on the same.
Again if you take the fourth car as a starting point you can take off £10k for LHD and £14,000 mileage adjustment then that gives you roughly the price of the second car as they have a similar spec.
Take the fourth car again, add £13k for the mileage adjustment and in this case around £15k for the very high spec (carbon ceramics, full carbon interior, lightweight wheels, PPF, carbon seats and so on) that comes to £147,000, again almost bang on.

So they are not all over the place, in fact I would argue they are fairly consistent. Also a dealer cannot pass on the MCL warranty but a private seller can for just an £80 admin fee. That is worth £3,500 per year and that's why private cars are approx the same as a dealer. Age doesn't seem to have much of an impact due to the short production span and rarity (280 RHD cars).

At the moment it looks like the baseline is around £120,000 for 20,000 miles for a basic spec car and adjust accordingly from there. I would say that 6 months ago that would have been £110,000.

Apologies the lhd car shouldn't of been inserted in the links!

Well specified car with sensible miles for less than 120k at a mclaren dealer.

its because its silver.....supercars cant be silver.
Yeah definitely not the best colour for a McLaren but having said that as they are so rare and it makes a good contrast to any carbon or diamond cut wheels and red calipers for example its growing on me although I would still not buy it.
If that makes sense.

I turned down a lovely specced pearlescent silver new 650s spider in favour of my volcano red car and the price difference was about £5k when you compared the cars like for like.
It also has IRIS I sat nav.
Probably been offered £100k as p/x and dealer will put it up for £115k
If he's been offered 100k px why have the hassle of trying to sell it privately on eBay 106k open to offers. This could be a very cheap car if some is in the position to buy privately. I've not seen arid car this cheap, anyone else seen one sell for less than 106k ?
