Mclaren Insurance

I know this may have been asked numerous times before, so apologies for this...

...but I am close to realising a dream of mine and owning a Mclaren - albeit at the low end (12c).

Where I'm struggling is insurance. Nobody seems to want to touch me...

Rough details:
SW London postcode
Garaged
clean history
Full UK licence for 11yrs +
Some previous performance cars (911, r8, m3 - granted not in same league)
28 years old

I've tried:

Locktons (helpful, but said will be tough unless part of a fleet)
Direct Line Select (waiting to hear back, but the guy on the phone was skeptical)
Allen Thomas - haven't heard back
Admiral - quoted me £3.4k (although a bit apprehensive about using them for this type of car)
Adrian Flux - refused to quote (which was very surprising)

Any other recommendations? Or should I just pay up and go with Admiral?

They've conjured up some magic and quoted me <£1500 for limited mileage + track day cover.
