Bit of a drastic colour change on this one. I feel for the owner, what a shock.

Speculation of the cause would be a more interesting topic. Perished fuel hose is normally a prime suspect. But in much older cars. This one?

No, I've enjoyed McLaren ever since visiting the factory to watch F1s in production circa 1998. A visit organised by the Maserati club. An era when infantile rivalries were less evident and a shared passion for cars was to the fore.

Wow, catastrophic gearbox failure isn't what I'd expect tootling around country lanes. I wonder if there were any warning signs previous to this.
