Hi guys,

Quite a few of us picked up a Zoe on silly PCP deals in late 2014. Many were on 2 year deals, as ours is, so are due to go back in a few months time.

We're starting to think about a replacement and struggling a little. The main contender is a Yeti as we could do with a more more space. So, out of curiosity, what are you folk going to do come chop in time? I assume nobody is planning on purchasing as the balloon is around double the value of the car (or triple based on WBAC quotes!).

Yeah, the 2014 deals never made any financial sense to anyone but the customer, but I had assumed that Renault just wanted exposure / presence of the car on the road to increase their profile in the electric car market. Renault are simply going to have to take the hit on them; Renault finance set the GFV after all.

Well, as I suggested I might in my OP, I've order a Yeti 1.2tsi on a 2 year lease. Should be ready for collection shortly after the Zoe goes back. £159 down and £159 per month so not a great deal more expensive than the Zoe, when you take battery rental into account.

I enjoyed dipping my toe into electric cars and would do so again if the car/price is right. What seems clear to me is that they're a car to rent not buy.

Anyone know what happens to the charge point at my home after I give the Zoe back? Does it stay? Do I own it or does someone come and take it away?

With the ever falling Zoe values compared with the c£9k owed, unless I hand the car back, I'm getting increasingly nervous of using the car as I didn't bother with GAP insurance.

Anyone else in the same boat or was I the only buyer not to see what would happen to future values?

I didn't bother with GAP insurance either but there again I fully intend to hand it back for the new 41KW model.

If anyone is interested the RCOZ Owners club on Face ache has a good deal going on.
I intend to hand mine back as well, but can't help thinking I'd be in a whole world of financial pain if I were to be involved in a total loss accident between now and hand back. Maybe I think too much!

Not to be the purveyor of doom and gloom but if the market value is really that poor it won't take much of a prang before the car is deemed BER (Beyond Economical Repair).
Yes, completely agree. A rather innocuous prang could write it off. My fault. Should've taken GAP
