I wonder if anyone else is awaiting one of these in the Channel Islands?

There was a UK plated white boxster GTS parked in north beach this afternoon, very nice it looked too.
That sounds like the first local one is now here (collected from Reading I believe). A black one has visited. I am collecting my yellow one in 2 weeks time. Reading too so temp UK plates initially as well(per the white one). Hopefully some more to come, but not too many, and different colours! cool

Well if it goes as well as it looks, you're in for a treat!
Write-ups are excellent, and I have already driven the new Boxster S, so I am hoping it is going to be awesome! Nice change from F-Type roadsters, of which there seem to be a few.

BTW. I arranged with PistonHeads to create the Channel Islands forum so you are probably the first 'real' poster beer

Photo to follow when I collect mine!

Nice one, lets hope it gets well used!

Have you ordered yours from the UK? Any reason for not going via our local friends?
Yes, Reading Porsche. A first for me. All these came from our local provider:

14/05/2005 Audi Allroader
03/09/2008 Discovery
15/08/2010 Nissan 370
02/01/2011 C63 AMG
15/12/2011 Porsche Cayman R
04/11/2012 Evoque
01/05/2013 Vantage v12
01/08/2013 Freelander 2

Sadly on this occasion the deal being offered was far far from acceptable, and the initial lack of attention didn't help. Next time around we can try again! Which as you can see is more often than is financially sensible!

That's Interesting, about 18 months ago I attempted to order a 991 GT3 via the local route & it could not have been more unprofessional.
I lost interest in the end & stuck with the current steed.
Very much understood. I should probably have gone elsewhere previously with some of my purchases but remained as loyal as possible, until now. The Reading guys are very responsive. I think they have a GT3 coming in from Jersey that someone is trying to move privately. They mentioned it to me in passing. Just in case you are still looking...

White Boxster GTS is also ex-Reading and purchased by a local, so expect Guernsey plates on it soon!

Interesting, thanks. So, it seems one in either island, the one already here being from the OPC in Reading.

Mine should arrive at Reading today, am awaiting THAT call....

Hopefully a happy Friday!

How did the blue look?

I dithered on the colour choice for days. Never liked yellow, never had a yellow car. But for me the colour just looks right on this. A tad Ferrari'ish, if I may be so bold.

Makes a nice change from the usual colours (says the man who has a grey 911!)

If I was buying new I think I could be tempted to go for yellow, red or blue. In fact I recently missed out on a yellow 997tt which I thought looked amazing.

Glad people like you buy them as it means more choice for me when buying used smile

Which seats did you go for??
Apologies for the delay in replying. I actually stayed with the standard sports seats. Having now driven it I am happy with the decision. The multi function memory seats were another chunk of cash and given I am the only one who usually drives it I thought I would save on money AND probably more importantly, weight.

Please does anyone know of a local firm that applies Paintshield or a similar and good clear wrap to the front of cars (and does it well!). I would like to protect the front of mine from stone chips.

Thanks!
