The best Patrick Dempsey could possibly be would be a silver category driver. He drives in GTE AM (and before in LMP 2) because they are required to have a "gentleman" driver and aren't allowed more than one platinum or gold driver. In LMP 1 on the other hand, with a free choice, it is rare to find even a gold driver.
