Where should I watch the start of the race from?

First time at le mans and I am staying at village on the curves where I can watch the start of the race with a pint at the trackside marquee. Is it worth trying to make it to the start line or should I stay put?

Thanks for the reply and the advice about timing. I do not have a grandstand ticket although that may have been an oversight!
