We've been awaiting it for some time, but the bar has gone into the equivalent of Chapter 11 bankruptcy this week. Sad news for those who liked motor racing.

The street where it is situated has a shocking reputation for violence and drunkenness any weekend and sane people stay away, which has led to a downward spiral in all entertainments in that area, especially the cinema where people used to eat at the Legend afterwards. So the Legend seems set to just be that - a legend.

You got it. Rue du Port, the place to have your face slammed constantly against a shop window (my friend's son), get you head and ribs kicked in by teenage girls, or just get a friendly switchblade rearranging your features. A laugh a minute.

ETA: Eastlmark, if you want pizza just go down the Rue Bolton from the main square and there is one not far from the Place des Jacobins, or in other words the cathedral. I reckon it's all frozen as are so many of the chains these days, but if you are looking for real food a group of restaurants have adopted the name "Bistrot Sarthois" as a sign that food is actually made on the premises.

"Redressement judiciaire" is the state they are in, which means they are hping to trade their way out of trouble but stalling the creditors, just like Chapter 11 in the USA. But the owner was interviewed in the local paper and wasn't optimistic.
