Single trip breakdown cover for cars 16yrs and older

As the title says, who are you guys using for your le mans and le mans classic trips?

Eurotunnel do not cater for older cars and sadly it seems AXA will only cover cars under 16 yrs.

Not looking for an annual policy, just a single trip one with recovery to the uk/hire car. I have tried those compare sites to no good effect

I have no idea what a BMW e92 is? If its under 16yrs old its irrelevant to the thread

If you want cheap single trip cover you can't beat "Vehicle Rescue Direct" but they are underwritten by AXA insurance who only cover cars up to 15 yrs, after that the price seems to Triple with other insurance companies!
Eurotunnel will not cover classics either. (if you can call a 16yr old car a Classic)

... & for info, I've had to use the cover too and its been spot on each time ops:

My insurer does not cover my car as it's too old!
My Broker is CCI (Competition Car Insurance) they are part of the Towergate Group, Aviva is the underwriters insurance.

change insurer

I have a 43year old, a 23 year old and a 13year old .. all have this breakdown cover as part of their insurance

And I bet none of them are a highly modified V10 LHD Viper which is insured for Road AND Track

Full EU cover for EUR79/year. They use the AA for recovery in the UK, and you effectively get AA "home start" included. No limit for older cars.

It will hopefully not be needed for my 47 year old Alfa on the run down to the Classic this year....

Job done, £38 quid for 6 days cover, can't wait now, and the policy covers fuel breakdown if you run out
