What to buy Estate or SUV???

Will need to tow a caravan and not sure but maybe snowy mountain roads.....
Contemplating VW Passat, Mazda 6 or VW Golf Estates or something like a VW Tiguan....
Any ideas or suggestions....

Have had Subaru Forester in the past and found ride comfort and road noise unacceptable, what small 4wd SUV would you recommend...

Have not bought the caravan yet - a 4 birth

Other than towing the caravan it may have to drive me from the UK to Romania and cope with their winters....

Don't really want much bigger than 2.0 Diesel engine for car tax reasons.

Think I will need 4wd or Awd to deal with the snow.

Comfort / Refinement are top priority and sorry but I am after an automatic as well.

So come on let's have your suggestions.........

Hyundai Tucson
Etc....

I said a 4 birth, so around 1300kg

Pretty much any 2.0 diesel SUV or Estate will pull that, so looking for suggestions as to what to get.

As I said would like an automatic and comfort/refinement are important.
