Will be in the market for a family car in the next few months. Quite likely to be a Disco 3 but then I got browsing Jag XFs. The Supercharged ones all seem low mileage which probably answers the fuel economy question but my commute is 10 miles so not so worried.

Ruinously expensive in all other ways?

Does it have to be the supercharged XF? The reason I say that you could get a very nice N/A version of the XF for that money admittedly with 300 rather than 410bhp but I think it would be worth trying one.

Yeah I saw both of those. Not so sure about the silver one, it looks suspiciously low. The black one looks nice and comes with the (theoretical) backup of being dealer-supplied. The more I look, the more I fancy one.

So assuming some V8 wafting is on the menu, what others are worth considering? 7 series?

Auto. Enough power and torque to get moving if required. 3 kids across the back.

Continuing the theme, thoughts on bork factor of £15k of XJ?
